Tara, my condolences to your and family on your Dad's passing. Bearing the heavy burden of loss and sorrow can be very onerous, but with the love and support of those close to you, in time this will be replaced by fond and loving memories.
I am just one of thousands that brushed up against this giant of a man - big in every way …. Integrity… friendliness… charm … and a spiritual dimension which showed the honesty of a simple man - To his children and grandchildren I send my deepest sympathy… you will experience a deep sadness but will be comforted by the knowledge that a special man was central to your lives and his legacy will live on through his family. I know he will have heard the words ‘ Well done thou good and faithful servant - enter thou into the place prepared for you from the beginning of the world!

Like many at Malahide Rugby Club I will miss big Al very deeply. The Club will miss one of its best volunteers and supporters. The flowers will miss his hours spent tending them. The bar will miss his stories.

Personally I'll miss the craic and glint when he was telling you a story. And the horse tips and the Fianna Fáil chats. Big black shoes to fill.

To Tara, Brian and Claire, my condolences on the passing of Big Al. My father Frank, has fond memories of him and sends his deepest sympathies on the loss of a true gentleman.
Sad news this. The Kelly-Mór family gave me my late brother (Liam) and I our first summer jobs in the Grove Hotel back in 1980 when we were still in school. We loved it there, and became very fond of them as we grew up. When Liam's Dublin GAA football team won the All Ireland Minor Championship in 1982, their post-match function was in the Grand. Seeing as they were not allowed to fill the Cup there, they brought it to Al and Deirdre who happily filled it for them and accommodated our celebrations with our neighbours and all the locals. Just one of the many memories of good times at the Grove, and for which we owe a big debt of gratitute to both Al and Deirdre. There are so many others - the Fawlty Towers restaurant - the functions - Pat the Manager - the Dubs' Senior Team's NYE parties - Al's big Toyota Cressida car which I washed for him once and Deirdre killed me for using one of her good trays when sweeping up the dust. Happy times. RIP. Thank you for everything.
Our deepest sympathies to Al’s family & friends at this very sad time.

He was such a nice man who will be sorely missed by so many across the community.

May he rest in peace.
