Dear Mary, Teresa and Callum
It's not easy to find the right words – especially in a foreign language. We would like to express our deepest condolences to you on this heavy loss. We were always pleased when we met Alec, the last time together with Maria at the Tattoo Parade in Avenches (Switzerland). The good guys leave far too soon. We wish you much comfort and strength in this difficult time. We will always have fond memories of Alec.

We met Alec in our too few visits to Arranmore and yet his musical skills, friendliness, wit & goodwill, left its mark on us. Being based in Germany, we had hoped to meet him at the Bremen Tattoo. Our deepest sympathy to his family & friends. RIP.

Dear Maria,Teresa and Callum, I was lucky enough to spend time with Alec and your family since you arrived back on Arranmore. Alec was one in a Million. He was larger than Life, Strong, Gentle, Funny, Kind, Talented, and so Sincere. He has had such an impact on everyone he happened to meet. He leaves behind beautiful memories for us all. He was a Great addition to our World. Rest in Peace my Friend. A

We had the great pleasure of meeting Alec in Moscow in 2015. He was so helpful and kind and it was wonderful to be in his company. Our sincere condolences to his family and many friends. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam.

We had such wonderful concerts with Donegal Youth Orchestra, DMEP-Donegal Music Education Partnership. Alec was so inspiring to make music with. And no bother to him to have orchestral chanters to hand. Oh the great music we made together on Arranmore and in An Grianan Theatre. The sound of the 'Rose of Arranmore' drew tears, 'Amazing Grace' gave hope and 'Highland Catherdral' such a high, especially as it left the hall and travelled oer the fields and bóithríns of Arranmore to sing with the Atlantic❤️. And now gone is Alec the Maestro, Alec the Prince of Pipes. Such a huge loss❤️. A beautiful man, a lovely man, a humble being, a master musician and leader. So, so sad for his passing.
