Condolences to the Perkins Family on the sad passing of Alf whom I got to know during my years out at Hollystown Golf. A wonderful character and Gentleman . May He Rest in Peace.

My deepest sympathy to Pat,Terri,Mark and all of Alfie's family.I volunteered with Alfie in Dublin Zoo for over 20 years,Alfie was a true gentleman,and a great friend. I remember all the wonderful days when the children from Chernobyl visited and Pat's wonderful picnics,thank you Pat.There was nothing Alfie liked better than being surrounded by a group of children telling them all about the animals and being in the midst if all the dignitaries. The taking videos of various openings. Thank you Alfie for some wonderful memories,t was an honour to have you as a friend and colleague,i will miss you.

So sorry to hear about Alf - have been with you through webcam at his funeral Mass. Alf always had a smile on Sundays in Dublin Zoo and he shared that smile and great knowledge with both visitors and volunteers alike - we often spoke about music too... may songs of the angels lead you home Alf, and guide you along your way... 'may the smiles of the martyrs greet your own, as songs of the angels bring you home, before the face of God.'

We at Dublin Zoo were very saddened to hear of the passing of Alfie, he was one of the longest ever serving members of the volunteer team from 1989-2019 - an incredible commitment and legacy. His dedication to the role of volunteer was outstanding and he inspired and educated thousands of visitors over the years in addition to his fellow volunteers with whom he shared so much of his knowledge. May he rest in peace

Very sorry to hear of Alfie s sudden death. He was a long time member of Dublin Zoo Volunteers and it was always a pleasure to be on duty with him. Alfie had a great way of showing biofacts to children and was very knowledgeable. Huge circle of friends and great charity worker. I treasure the many videos he made over the years. Gone too soon. He was a fellow Volunteer at Dublin Zoo though he was there a lot longer than me. He would have enhanced the enjoyment of many visitors by imparting his knowledge over the years. May he rest in peace
