So very disappointing to have to hear of the passing of my Nanny Alice days after she’s gone from an RIP article. I never got to pay my final goodbyes or attend her funeral!
As the first grandchild in the Byrne household I’ve treasured memories of all the years in Nanny Alice’s house from Christmas morning with the couches full of presents for all us grandchildren a section each we had, to rainy evenings having tea and rice-tea biscuits together & going shopping with her every Wednesday evening after watching the Bill with my Grandad Nickey.
May she be reunited with her loving husband and meet her great granddaughter among all the other angels above waiting for her arrival...
— Sophie O Dowd & Family

So sad to hear of the passing of Alice. My deepest condolences to Lisa and her brothers and all her family. My time spent with Alice in St. Andrews will stay with me forever. Always came down to the kitchen for a cup of tea and a slice of toast before work began. Always had a great laugh with her and those memories will remain with me always. I even wrote a poem for her on her retirement and read it to her and she loved it. Sleep with the angels Alice.
