Very very sad to hear of the passing of Al O Donnell , he was wonderful .
Sincere condolences on the sad news of Al's passing. From the O'Donnell Family (Late of 58 Kenilworth Park, Harold's Cross)
Sincere condolences to Al's family; only learned of his death tonight at a music session in our local pub when a new singer sang Al's song, Avondale. I had been on holiday and was stunned by the news......
May he rest in peace.....
Very sorry to hear of the passing of Al, Shocked. Very Fond Memories from Early Days Around the Folk scene.
Condolence to Connor & All the Family C.
Sympathy to family and friends of Al O'Donnell. I was a fan upstairs in The Stags Head in the early 70s and was so happy to meet him again only a few years ago when he launched his CD in The Cobblestone. That night he sang my old favourite Sammys Bar for me which I hadn't heard since The Stags Head days. A great singer of great songs and a gentleman. I would like to think his spirit goes on singing and sometimes we will hear snatches of his voice when we think of him. Rest in peace Al and thank you for the songs.
Deeply shocked to learn of the passing of Al.Sincere sympathy to all his family and friends. For me he was one of the great troubadours in the early ballad/folk days of the Embankment in Tallaght. It was there I first heard him deliver "The Spanish Lady" accompanied by his own unique banjo style.Ah yes, those were the days.Happy memories. My sincere sympathy to all the family on the sad passing of Al. Met Al in Hamburg when he was playing with the Dubliners . A lovely man. May he rest in peace.
So sorry to hear that Al has died. We remember him from many moons ago up in Kildare. He was a sweet and gentle man. May the sod rest lightly on him.
