Dear Alice, I met your Mum at many of your Parent Evenings and Beaulieu Events. Your Mum was keen to hear how I thought you were doing at school… however she always began asking how I was. Your Mum was a gentle, caring lady who clearly adored her family but also genuinely cared about the people around her. Such a lovely lady.

Dear Kevin, family and extended family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Alma from her time in Waterford. She was a really kind and gentle person. Thinking of you all. May she rest in peace.

Alma was a great friend, always dependable, always there when you needed a listening ear and always full of great advice.

She was a wonderful Mum, giving you all the space and encouragement you needed as children to grow in your own way and to be your own people.

She was a loving, devoted, supportive and proud Wife. Kevin you were the love of her life and she often told me how lucky she was to have you in her life.

Alma was an extremely intelligent lady, I loved listening to her politics and views on life, didn’t always agree with them, but that was good, discussions flowed.

She will be sadly missed by our little dinner group, by you all and by everyone who had the pleasure and gift in their lives of meeting and knowing her.

To dear Kevin, Tom, Liam and Alice, I am so, so terribly sorry for the loss of Alma, your Wife and Mum. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are going through and have been over recent weeks.
Alma and I became friends when Tom and Kieran started school, so I have known her for around 23 years and it took me many days to believe this news was real.
In more recent years, I always looked forward to our 'Mum's catch-up', where we would share how well all our children were doing (and Alma was extremely proud of you three), and our general life situations and any holidays we had been on, or were coming up.
Alma was witty, intellectual, interested, knowledgeable, kind and caring.
I have been thinking about her and you all, every day since I heard the news.
Be strong for each other and 'be there' for each other. There will be many times over the coming weeks, months and beyond, where you will wish she was with you. Look after each other and continue to live your lives in the way that Alma, your Wife and Mum would have wanted.

I am so sad at the passing of Alma. She was my close and dear friend from the time we started in school at the Ursuline in Thurles. I have such fond memories of the many happy times we shared over the years. She was always upbeat, ready to try anything, and had a wonderfully kind and personable nature. People were naturally drawn to her, and she had a way of making everyone feel at ease.
