Our deepest sympathu to Geraldine and family and the extended Mullaney family on the passing of Alphonsus What a huge loss for you all .Alphonsus was always good humoured ,friendly and kind .When lifts to Galway were rare in the early 70s he was always ready to help no questions asked .So sorry i was unable to go to his funeral but will call to see you Geraldine when next in Glinsk .Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers .

So sorry to read recently of Alphonsus' death. We were together in Cistercian College, Roscrea. What a lovely lad he was. Always full of fun. It's years and years since I met him in Castlerea, but have nothing but the fondest of memories of him. I had planned to visit him in Ballymoe, but never did. Regrets, regrets, regrets! Sleep well Alphonsus.

Though in failing health for some time, losing a loved one is always difficult. I have many fond memories of Al and the other members of the Mullaney family, whether in Ballincurry, Williamstown or wherever. RIP Al.

Wonderful memories of Al down through the year's. Al loved a few pints during the day, where he would meet the late great Paddy Burke, George Selby RIP Mick Ryan and of course his friend Johnny Kenny, they got on so well, like two peas in a pod. The stories they would tell, they were so witty, the fun and the craic between them both was a pleasure to witness, never a dull moment.
Al loved sport rugby, soccer, gaelic football, and inparticular the Galway hurling team.
Al was very handy with the shotgun and when the pheasant season would open Al would go out for a shot and we would say, Al what would be the best way to shoot a pheasant, he would say, pheasants love thick undergrowth and cornfields where they would feed and hide, when a pheasant rises don't shoot too soon or you will destroy him, let him rise into the air and judge the angle he is going in and fire the shot slightly in front of him and he will run into the shot himself and the whole place would erupt in laughter and a round of applause by everyone present and they would all shout, tell us another one Al and he would say go away and leave me alone.
He will be sadly missed. Al and Geraldine rared a wonderful family, great people. Our sincere sympathy to his loving wife Geraldine, family Maureen, Rita, Joanne, Richie, Vinny his sister's Gemma, Pauline and Josephine, sons in-laws, daughter in-laws, grandchildren and the extended Mullaney family. May he rest in peace 🙏
