Dearest dearest Alun, my brother from another mother as we often used to joke. How can I ever thank you for just being you? My mentor, my steadying hand through tough times and my partner in crime through great times, of which there were many. But most of all, thank you for showing me how to be a better me - nobody else could ever really do that . . . but you could.

I'll love you forever, I'll never forget you and I'll never stop thinking about what you might say to me, when I'm taking a wrong turn.

I'll cherish every moment we shared and never forget them. I'm blessed to have known you and blessed to be able to call you my friend.

Alun was such a happy little boy and man, a laugh and a smile was never very far away, a terrible loss to his family and friends

I know that Alun was such a loving father and husband but i wanted to say just how much of an honour it was, to call him our friend. We loved that we got to spend a long weekend with him every July for the Maverick Festival where Alun excelled in demonstrating what an absolute top man he was, gentle, tough, funny, generous and welcoming to all he came into contact with. Alun shared a great interest in others, was receptive and curious about the world and other peoples travels and I know was keen to add to his own adventures. Sadly he was taken too soon from us all. We will honour Alun at Maverick this year and every year thereafter, he will be greatly missed but never forgotten. A true legend in every sense of the word...Rest In Peace Alun until we meet again. So sorry to hear this very sad news. Alun and I shared a dormitory at Chantmarle during our initial training in 1985. Alun’s incredible sense of humour kept us laughing until the early hours and he was instrumental in maintaining our morale by both day and night. He will be greatly missed. RIP

A greater man we shall never meet again, although knowing Al for a relatively short time I felt we kinda hit it off but sadly a time when he was taken ill. I have learnt a lot from Al with his dignity and positivity. A massive void for us all lays bare.
To say he will be missed is the biggest understatement!
Rest in peace Alun and thank you for your friendship and concerns for me.
