Amanda Parkes

Amanda was a good friend to me while I was in hospital 7 years ago. Sad to hear of her passing which I only heard about yesterday.

I knew Amanda from CUH and am very saddened to lean of her passing. She was a lovely, bubbly and a very pleasant person. She has died far too young- may she rest in peace and always be remembered for the lovely person that she was.

We used love playing against Wilton and the Cork League back in the day as you always knew it was going to be a battle and you always wanted to test yourself against the best. And even though you wanted a test, there would always be an exhale of disappointment when you seen Amanda togged out because you knew a tough 90mins was ahead. She was beyond talented & a joy to watch and a character in equal measure. Those games over the years vs Wilton always stick out in our minds when we think back and how lucky we were to experience them.

Have so many great memories which i will cherish forever, from training with the boys in the ESB club, travelling to liverpool and wales for tournaments, winning god only knows how many medals and trophies, we had an unbelievable team and you were the heart of it.
