Mandy, I hope you will permit me the indulgence of a second message...I was present at the most touching and beautiful service at the Strokestown Parish, to bid you farewell. I wish to thank everybody who presided over the church service and made the Live Stream possible, and for those who were there, today. It brought comfort to me. Regrettably, we will not be able to share an embrace , a joke or a meal. I hope that, through God's grace, I will be able to spend time with your sisters and their families, as we remember you, and our beloved family members who have passed. With love.

Dear Mandy, we were not in contact over the years, but that matters little when it comes to family. I remember well the family visits, and can picture your playing with my youngest sister especially, doing kid-things! The sad, tragic news came as a jolt, a reminder of past, happy days, when we were young. Rest in peace.

To Mandy's partner, friends and family in Ireland, sisters and family in South Africa and elsewhere: my heartfelt condolences to you all, and may you find peace, comfort and strength.

As we all know, death is a very painful enemy that will soon, thankfully, be permanently done away with, according to the Bible. We have this reassurance from a God who is love.

My condolences to Mandy’s family and friends in South Africa, Ireland, Switzerland, USA.

As the oldest of Mandy’s nieces, she was always very protective and proud of her family. She would lovingly and tirelessly play games, especially Snakes and Ladders, ride bicycles to the shops, play tennis in the street, and entertain us when we visited for school holidays once a year—it was the highlight of the year, going to visit her and the family. And, even though we have all grown up, it seems like only a short, memorable time ago. Mandy will always hold a special, tender part of my heart.

Amanda was the baby in our family. One of five children. She was known to us as Mandy.

She later preferred to be called Amanda, but to me she was always Mandy.

I often think of you Mandy. I remember you as the cutest baby. An adorable blonde little toddler in your tan and white striped knitted little pantsuit. And a few years later when you were about 4 or 5 years old in your turquoise blue “A” frame dress with its white trim. Your smiling tanned, mischievous little face and green eyes. I remember how you so loved our boisterous German Shepherd dog, Lulu.

I remember how you would love it whenever we visited you, with Marcelle and Jayson. And then later with Chanel too. I remember how you so loved and adored them. As they so loved and adored you. How your face would light up with such joy and excitement. How you loved to play and have fun with them.

I love and miss you, Mandy. I wish I could have done more for you.

Life was not easy for you. I hope and pray, it is much better for you, where you are now.

I love you, and always have, My Sister Mandy.
