So very very sorry to hear from my father Tony Rogers this evening of the death of dear Ambrose. Many a night I rang Dad in The Irish Times and Ambrose and myself would have a great chat. He was such a lovely man and always joked with me about moving to Leitrim. Dad spoke so fondly of him tonight when he told me about working with him from the age of only 15 !! Said there was a group of 7 young lads working together who were called " The Bisto Boys " by the older workers. That was over 60 years ago. He will be sadly missed and Dad will always keep a special place in his heart for his special friend. May he rest in peace.
Dear Bridget and family, what a wonderful man, kindest smile, it was a pleasure to meet and know him - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very sad time.
