So very sorry to hear the sad news Gerry. Thinking of you at this very difficult time. Amelia will be missed very much, what a lovely lady. May she rest in peace.
Dear Gerry, we are so very sorry we were unable to travel and be there yesterday as your lovely Amelia made her final journey. The sense of despair was tangible over the internet, those of us constrained by circumstance shared your heartache, albeit at a distance. Amelia Mary will be remembered for her modest, selfless, warm and infectious personality which cast far and wide; the wonderful tributes say it all. Amelia leaves a huge void, her love for you was something to behold. Amelia’s friendship with our sister Maureen (Mauze) and all her family was something else, an example to us all of what really matters in life. Yourself and Amelia made space for everyone without exception, and paradise will be re-shaped and all the richer for her presence. Our thoughts remain with you...
Gerry, I was devastated to hear about Amelia. I am so sorry. Like many, I was lucky to have known her and have many wonderful memories, both personal and professional. Amelia was a strong, loyal, and supportive mentor and a kind, generous, and warm friend. She taught me more than just a business; she led by example and that included putting family first. We were lucky enough to spend some time with you at The Kip. My son (then 5, now 20) still remembers the time he spent with Amelia walking on the beach, collecting sea glass, and baking. I deeply, deeply regret falling out of touch with her. The world has lost a kind and true soul. May she rest in peace and may you and your families take comfort in your many wonderful memories.

Dear Gerry, I’m so sorry to hear of Amelia’s passing. A dear friend who I’ve thought of often but sadly lost touch with. My misfortune. I hear her voice and see her smile and know that will stay with me. A very special person. A toast to her, and prayers and thoughts to you and her family.
Gerry - so sorry to hear this. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. May She Rest in Peace.
I am devastated to hear about Millie. We were very close friends when I lived in the States and I have wonderful memories of our times together that I will always cherish. She had amazing style and a great sense of humour. Gerry, I am heartbroken for you. X
Dear Gerry,
We were shocked by the news Amelia passed away. Our sincere condolences to you and loved ones.
Amelia was a very impressive charismatic personality, and the best editor I have worked with in my professional career. Furthermore she and you supported my family in settling in the US. We still remember and will never forget.
We wish you all strength going forward, our thoughts are with you and family.
Warm regards, Peter, Nynke, Sabine, Sophie, Pieter

I am so deeply sorry to hear about Amelia. I worked with her in New York during her Kluwer days. I was new to New York and she took me under her wing (as she was prone to do with younger women). I thought she was so glamorous, always wearing lipstick and dressed beautifully. I'll never forget: we were preparing for an important business meeting and the night before, she was on her hands and knees, dressed in what was probably a very expensive cream suit cleaning a stain off the office carpet. She never asked anybody to do anything she wasn't prepared to do herself. Amelia celebrated our successes, but I remember her telling me that we should also celebrate our failures (I think that might have been an excuse to order a bottle of champagne!). I have so many Amelia stories, but then again who knew her and didn't? What a force of nature! What an amazing tenacious woman! She was one in a million and I will never forget her.
Heartfelt condolences Gerry and all the McNamara family, such wonderful memories we have of yours and Millie’s kindness, generosity and hospitality when we arrived unannounced at your beautiful home for Niall and Catherine’s wedding you told Niall that day as we hid upstairs that you had two Dublin antiques upstairs he needed to see... just so you know Gerry the two Dublin antiques are thinking of you... rest in peace Millie
I write as someone who only met Amelia on a few occasions, while visiting Cahore from Wales. Amelia was a joy to spend time with, she had something that few people have today, she had time. Time to spend with people and make them feel welcome and valued, a part of her company. I send my condolences to Gerry and her family in both Ireland and America. Amelia will be a great loss to a large number of people, which is always the way when someone of great kindness and humanity passes on. Rest in peace Amelia
Gerard, we are all so saddened to hear of the loss of your lovely Millie. Deepest condolences to you and all the Farrellys.
Jem, Mick, Marie and Niall.
Jem, Mick, Marie and Niall.
Amelia had magic hands, so she left us all
something behind before she had to leave;
a book, a painting, a house on a dune by the sea,
a garden planted. Something Amelia’s magic hands
touched in some way, so her soul has a place to go to.
When we look at the tree, or the rose bush, or the stone
where she simply carved “Sadie”, Amelia is there, with us.
It doesn’ matter what she did; as long as Amelia changed something
from the way it was before she touched it, into something that became her, after she took her magic hands away.

Deepest sympathy to Gerry and all the Farrelly's,also the Mc Namara Family on the untimely passing of Millie. Thinking of you all .RIP
I am so very sorry for your loss Gorgeous Gerry. That's how Amelia (to me, not Millie) described you once. Her love was so strong and her understanding of family and friendship was remarkable. I wish I'd known her better and longer but feel lucky to have known her at all. She is sitting now, and laughing at my dream dinner party in the sky. She's in tremendous company!

Unsure what to say here that hasn't already been said in the beautiful messages I have just read.Reading them I hear loud and clear how much Amelia meant to so many people. I want to send our heartfelt condolences to Gerry and all his and Amelia's family. We will all miss Amelia and her positive fun and honest outlook on life we will miss the Amelieism's like " get over yourself " or "ye think" and we will continue to use when we include in her in our conversations. Gerry I know you will miss your "girlfriend" so much and I hope the happy and loving memories she has left you will see you through these toughest of times. As Amelia makes her last visit to Cahore today I want her to know that the couple from No 5 will miss her. May she rest in peace. Xxxx
So sorry to hear of your huge loss Gerard. Millie put up a great fight and didn’t let her illness dictate her life.Today will be a difficult one but we’re thinking of you and wishing you well.
To Gerard and all the Farrellys, we're so truly sorry on the very sad passing of Millie. We've such treasured memories of various Farrelly Redmond gatherings, Sheila and Declan wedding, other family events, weekend in Cahore and particularly the trip to Hoboken. Both of you were such wonderful, generous and fun loving hosts to us. Millie was so energetic and engaging, full of smiles and laughter. She will not be forgotten and our hearts go out to you all.
To Gerard and all the Farrelly family, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beautiful Millie. She filled your hearts with great joy and memories that will never be forgotten. Millie, you were a treasure on this green Isle, godspeed & Slán ❤️
We are so sorry to get this news about Millie. She was always such a fun person to run into on the streets of Hoboken. We will keep her and your family in our prayers. 🙏❤️
My sincerest condolences to Gerry and the entire McNamara clan. I am completely shocked and saddened by this news. Amelia and I were extremely close during our Kluwer and Springer days, and managed to stay in touch for a few years after we both left Springer. I tried to reach out to Amelia a number of times over the years to catch up, but was unable to connect. I am heartbroken by this news. Amelia was such a loving, loyal, and funny person who always looked out for and supported her friends and colleagues. I will always remember the times we spent together, including the many nights we drank expensive wine and ate far too much food together during our many trips to the Netherlands or Germany or having long lunches at the Italian restaurants on Spring and Prince Street in Soho.
Dear Gerry, I'm shocked and saddened by the news of Amelia's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Amelia was a force of nature and a real breath of fresh air on her many visits to the Kluwer Dordrecht office. I consider myself privileged to have met and enjoyed the company of both of you and remember fondly the fun times we had in Hoboken and Boston. May she rest in peace.

I am absolutely gutted to learn of Amelia's passing. She was my mentor and my friend. i was a blue collar kid from Queens and we connected with a solid work ethic and a bit of dark humor. She taught me about class and grace and how to properly fold a sweater. She taught me about warm welcomes and how to be a good host and I admired, respected and loved her to a degree that I can't even describe. She showed me the world- so much of it- and watching her interact with people gave me a better understanding of how the world worked. That I let so much time pass will haunt me. She changed my life, truly. I watched her marriage as something to emulate and the deep, deep love she had for her family was something to be admired. My heartfelt condolences to Gerry, her siblings, her nieces and all who loved her. I am so grateful to her- to have known and loved such a beautiful, kind, smart, funny soul. I will shout your name from the rooftops, Amelia. xxoo
Dearest Gerry,
Extremely shocked and saddened to hear this news. We were reminiscing only the other day about when Amelia / Auntie Millie came to see the baby twins in Zwijndrecht.
I deeply regret losing touch — we really did have some fun times working together.
Our thoughts are with you! May Millie Rest In Peace.

Dearest Millie,
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said:
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of
intelligent people and the affection of
children; To earn the appreciation
of honest critics;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others...
This is to have succeeded.

You kept us in stitches. You’re wit is legendary on both sides of the pond.
You hold a very special place in all our hearts.
All the kids love you-You make everything so very much fun.
You don’t suffer fools.
You’re eye for everything beautiful is exemplified in your flair for decorating, your sense of style and your amazing artistic talents.
You’ve made me a better person through the love and understanding you give me.
You’ve made life better for so many of us.
It’s beyond understanding to have to say goodbye. But I know, as you steamrolled through life with a zest and vigor and a joie de vivre unknown to many; you are storming through Heaven and keeping them all in their toes.
Requiem in Pace
I love you very much!
