Andrea Boccarossa

Andrea was an absolutely amazing coach and always so lovely, kind and encouraging to all the children in RMDS after school soccer club. For many who never played football before he was so supportive and gave a love of football to all. We are all so sadened by the passing of Andrea and send Vicky and the family our deepest sympathy.

Our sincere condolences to Vicky, Rocco, and the entire Boccarossa family during this very sad time. Andrea was one of the first football people I met at Belmont, and he welcomed us with open arms and a warm joke. He was a true gentleman and had a wonderful way with my son Jack - always generous with his time and full of kindness.

Andrea loved to talk football and made everyone feel included. He will be greatly missed.

It's with great shock and sadness that I've learned of the passing of Andrea. I'm truly very, very sorry for the loss of such a friendly, dedicated and decent man, no doubt he'll be missed in all spheres of his full and varied life. My prayers and thoughts are with Mrs Boccarossa, Andreas children and his extended family.

It was with great sadness that we learnt of Andrea’s passing. Our paths crossed at Belmont’s Little Kickers with Andrea, Rocco and our older son Marcus. And our paths crossed on touch lines many times since. Andrea was larger than life, a true and genuine football man with all the time in the world to help footballers (and their parents!) of all ages and abilities. His energy was phenomenal. Jason met Andrea long before Andrea met Jason. As a very small child he used to walk past the cages in herbert park on a saturday morning watching the "older" kids play football. When he turned 4 he joined Belmont under the watchful eye of Andrea.

Jason loved training with Rocco and Andrea. Andrea brought out the best in Jason and was an amazing coach.

When covid hit and training could no longer take place Jason and Rocco trained with Andrea in Beechhill every lunchtime. Andrea got the two boys to do training drills he later sent to the other kids to practice so that he had a team to return to post covid. They were the highlight of our day. The girls even loved it, (albeit trying no to get hit with a stray ball).

We as a family are so grateful to Andrea for all the care, support, encouragement and love he showed Jason over the years and we were very much looking forward to having him as Jason's coach again, unfortunately this did not come to fulfilment.

It is with a heavy heart that we attended the funeral today in donnybrook. You should all be so proud, you gave him a beautiful send off.

We are so sorry for the pain that you are all going through on the passing of such an amazing husband, father and coach.

Seeing so many young people there to show their respects speaks volumes for the character that was Andrea. He touched the lives of so many.

We are so so sad at his passing and may he rest in peace.

I first befriended Andrea through the taxi community, a community he was so passionate about.

But that was Andrea all over. Warm, kind and extremely generous with his time and wisdom.

Andrea derived great joy in helping others, that was his way. Broken down in the middle of Kerry at 4am on a Monday night ? One call to Andrea and he'd be on his way down to get you back sorted. Genuinely one of the most good natured people one could wish to be lucky enough to call a friend.

His family meant everything to him and he always spoke extremely highly of them.

But all is not lost, we can take away from Andreas Legacy to have a zest for life, to keep trying, to never give up, to speak your mind and have an opinion. That's the qualities we'll all remember Andrea by.

Vicky, I am so sorry for your loss. Andrea was such a great guy, a family and football man who had an unwavering passion for the game. He could relate to the lads like no other coach could, they listened to and respected him. My sincere condolences to you, Giovanni, Tori, Sienna and Rocco. Sincere sympathies to the Boccarossa family on the death of a beloved husband, father and friend. I have very fond and still vivid memories of Andrea's goalscoring talents as a menacing full forward on the school Gaelic team. He must be the only person of Italian descent to score the winning goal in a Croke Park Schools Final!! Most of all, though, I remember Andrea as an always good-humoured, positive and popular student who was held in high regard by his teachers and fellow students. His passing is far too soon. I hope the many special memories of a wonderful person will ease the pain of his great loss. May he rest in eternal peace.
