Dearest Clodagh, Julia, Orla and all the family in Ireland and Australia,
We're sending you all the love in the world and our thoughts are with you at this time. Andy was a wonderful man and an incredible father. He was always there for his family and so proud of you all. I loved being with you on your wedding day and meeting his amazing family and friends.
love Alice and family.
Like everyone else, I was shocked by Andrew's sudden passing. We met in our university days in Sydney, and it feels like only yesterday that we were navigating the trials of our studies together. Those early years formed the foundation of a friendship that carried us through life’s various stages — including some memorable catchups in London and Dublin. Andrew was always the one checking in and loved sharing stories about you all.

I have many fond memories of time spent with Andrew and his family. Mary, Wal, and Jeremy welcomed me into their home with an easy warmth. Andrew carried that same warmth with him throughout his life, which was always evident in the way he spoke about you, Clodagh, and Julia and Orla. My heart goes out to you as you navigate this incredibly difficult time. Please know that many people are thinking of you, and that Andrew will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

With deepest sympathy,
We are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Andrew's passing. Andrew was such a gentleman and an inspiring netball coach. I wish to offer my condolence to Clodagh, Julia and Orla on behalf of the netball players and coaches in Rosemont School.
Just heard about Andy's passing, I'm shocked and saddened to hear it. Thinking of you Clodagh and the girls at this time.
We were deeply shocked and heartbroken to hear about Andy’s passing. It’s still hard to comprehend that someone who brought so much light and positivity to everyone around him is no longer with us.

Andy was truly one of a kind – a person who touched the lives of so many. Whether it was during our time at university or in the years that followed, he had an incredible way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and uplifted. He always made the most of our time together. His energy, kindness, and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. The world feels that bit dimmer without him, but the impact Andy had on those that knew him will never fade.

To Andy’s family, I can’t imagine the pain and sorrow you’re feeling right now, but please know our thoughts and love are with you all.

Andy, I am really going to miss you mate.
Sincere condolences and deepest sympathies to the Balak family on your loss. As primary and secondary school friends, Andrew was a great mate to me and many others at both St Agatha's and Oakhill College in Sydney. A wonderful friend... sadly missed.
I worked with Andrew for a while in Sydney and I can tell he was a good person. He supported me when life seemed to quit on me. His humour and contagious laughter will be missed and I will remember him that way, the happy days!
To Andrew's whole wonderful family, our deepest sympathies and heartfelt thoughts of solace. Andrew was a good guy.

With love,
Stuart
Andy was a true gent and it was an honour to have played rugby with him in Railway Union through the years. He was a tough competitor on the pitch but always had a smile. Himself, George Ross and I were the 10-12-13 axis for Railway before that became 9-12-13 and we played a good 6 seasons together.

We also got to share the pitch for a bit of 7's rugby, tag and Andy & I represented South Dublin in a very short (not dazzling) representative career.

He was a good friend in my years living in Dublin when I was in UCD. I got to share a few beers and a barbie at his family home in Sydney on a couple of occasions.

The shock and sense of loss amongst his peers in Railway speak of how highly Andy was regarded. He has left behind a loving family in Clodagh & the girls.

He will truly be missed.

Rest In Peace my friend.....
Great guy, great sportsman, great friend and family man. Sorely missed by all who were privileged to knew him.
Sincere sympathy to you Clodagh & your daughters on the very sad passing of Andrew. I always found him most pleasant to have a chat with especially as I only knew him for the short time he lived here. May he now rest in peace & may the Good Lord help you all to cope with your great loss.
My sincere condolences to the whole family on the passing of your loved one, Andrew.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Deepest sympathies to Andy's family and many friends here and in Australia on the loss of Andy. I played rugby with him years ago in Railway. A great team-mate to have on your side,(tough but fair) and an even better man off the pitch for a welcome and a chat. Rest in Peace Andy

I am saddened by the loss of Andrew. Andy was a true pleasure to work with—always funny, humorous, and adept at lightening any work situation I'd requested his support in. He was someone you could always rely on. I frequently sought his leadership on how to get graduates excited about estimating... His honesty and sense of humour will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife and daughters, whom he spoke of often.

Dear Clodagh and family,
My sincerest condolences on the loss of Andy, the world will be a lesser place without him.
I will forever cherish our time working together, especially the many hours of conversations across the time zones, setting the world to right. Andy was a true friend, and will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
Thinking of you all at this difficult time, may Andy's memory give you strength in the days and weeks ahead.
May he rest in peace.
Please accept my sincere condolences. I had worked with Andrew in Australia, I was shocked to read the sad news of his passing, my thoughts are with your family at this sad time.
I remember Balak (as he was to us!) as a UTS Skiing Teammate in the 90's - gutsy solid skier, Big Smile interesting entertaining chat - anything but boring. Then as a room mate in St Anton in the following century - more of the same, but more nuanced and with more depth. And then on a sailing ship in the North Sea - he had his sea legs, and had absorbed more of all the commercial world has to offer. Balak was a man you don't forget easily. Clodagh I don't know you or your kids, but I know the Balak Tribe would get on well with ours. Come and ski / walk / sled with us at our place in Switzerland this winter - we would love to spend some time on snow with you. I know Herr Balak would have approved. Thorpey +49 170 556 5703.
We extend our sincere condolences to the whole family on this very sad day.

My deepest condolences to you Clodagh and family on Andrews passing. Such a shock to us all here in Australia. My lasting memory of Andy was when we were shooting the breeze over a few pints under the gaze of Sydney Opera House, Reminiscing about his previous time in Ireland and playing rugby at a professional level. A great laugh and fond memories to cherish. May you all find strength in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Dear Clodagh, Julia & Orla,

Our deepest condolences & hearts go out to you and your family at the passing of Andy.

His wit, kindness & humour made every occasion fun and we will always treasure the many memories shared living in London and various European adventures travelling in those early days without a care in the world.

The special time I was able to spend with him in Kitzbuhel in March will stay with me forever. I will always remember his cheeky laugh and willingness to tackle any adventure, be it an unknown backcountry descent or Apres at 10am, Andy would be up for it.
.
He always spoke with profound love of his family and was so very proud of his girls.

We will miss him terribly,

All our love & support,
Andy, Belinda, Lily & Ava Wearne xx

We are so saddened to hear that Andrew has passed away. I have so many lovely memories of Andrew at Kiama Alpine Lodge in Thredbo from an early age and especially as former club president I so valued Andrew and Anton’s energy as our club captains. Andrew was so proud of his grandparents legacy in creating the club and he injected so much passion, fun and healthy competition in our club weekends and our interclub races. I really valued all of his insights and leadership whilst on the board and feel lucky to have known Andy.
You have all shown such bravery and strength and please know we are thinking of you all.
With much love and our deepest sympathies.
