Andy, you were my geek/tech mentor when I was growing up, I still remember looking forward to visiting 337 to see you and the next bit of latest tech you had, to this day you are the only person I’ve known to have a laser disc player. I remember our chats about movies, Star Wars and Star Trek in particular, about politics, about music, about rugby, about video games that you introduced me to and about the next new bit of kit coming out and when you were going to get it. I’ve missed that since moving away but will always cherish those memories.
Good bye Uncle Andy
So sorry Trudy to hear about your dear brotherAndy. May he rip. Gone to mind your mum and dad
Andy; you were my closest relation outside of my brothers and sister and I have great memories when we were young in your granny's front room playing Elvis, Buddy and Jerry Lee on the gramophone. In later years we enjoyed many long chats over a few whiskeys in the same room, though living far away as I do those visits were not as often as I would have liked. The last time we spoke in June this year you knew that your time was coming and that you ready to go, so your passing was not a surprise but no less a shock when it came. Safe journey to you Andy agus slaine bhaile.
RIP Uncle Andy, I will always remember our many trips to the video store in Sundrive to rent the same movies that we enjoyed over and over Superman , Star Wars and Indiana Jones to name but a few.
I remember you playing Glen Campbell on the record player like a rhinestone cowboy and the two of us singing ,There’s been a load of compromising on the road to my horizon. But I’m gonna be where the lights are shinin on me … shine bright Uncle Andy Nanna , mammy and Aunty Pat will have your supper tray ready with all your favourites.
Much love and condolences to my wonderful aunties Etta and Trudy your in my thoughts and prayers.
