To Pat, Stephen and all the McKenna Family, may I offer my sincere sympathy on the passing of Andy. Unfortunately I was unable to attend at the Church, which I deeply regret.
I first met Andy around 1973, in my early days with Aer Lingus when I was assigned to look after Atlas Travel in Amiens Street. With Andy looking after the American business and Frank handling the Liverpool FC charters, they were a "formidable team" to deal with and kept me on my toes. Andy always treated me with great respect and we became good friends over the years. I remember well those years when we worked and travelled together to the US with the GAA Allstars. He was a professional in his business dealings, a hard negotiator and a man of the highest integrity. I was fortunate to have had lunch with him some time ago, when we were able to recall those great days in travel. May he rest in peace.

We first met many years ago when he ran Atlas Travel in San Francisco & I worked in the Aer Lingus office further down the street there. We also met often in Dublin in the 80s/90s - and later - both socially and for business reasons. He was always a decent and honorable man, as well as being excellent company. He will be sorely missed by very many friends and colleagues far and wide.

Dear Patricia & family,

I had the pleasure of engaging with Andy during my time with the Aviation Regulator as the Travel Trade Licensing manager from 2007 to 2016. It was only when cutting the grass verge outside my house and Andy was trimming back some branches that adjoined his property, that I realised we were neighbours. I always found Andy to be a man of integrity and sound principles coupled with clever thinking and an impish smile. Always polite and a great reasoner, I offer my sincere condolences on your great loss and I wish Andy my best regards in the next life.

My memories of the McKenna home in Tiburon are an open door, a warm heartfelt hospitality and genuine friendship and also, where needed, sound advice. That tradition was continued when the family moved to Ireland. Andy was such a very special man. The number of people he helped is countless. His gentle soul is now reaping its reward.
