I was really saddened to hear about the passing of Andy Smith. I knew Andy from our younger years when we met at St Vincent's Deaf Club. We both shared a passion for football and played together there and then later when I moved to Belfast we played against each other. Andy was a great team player and was always friendly and approachable with a great sense of humour. My thoughts and condolences are with his wife Kathleen and the family he leaves behind.

I played with Andy for St Vincent’s club in 1970s and 1980s in Hearing League and Deaf Football Tournaments abroad. I will alway miss him. Rest in peace.

I enjoyed playing with Andy for St. Vincent in 1970s and 1980s in Hearing League and played deaf football tournaments abroad. He loved sitting in my car for away matches. I got on well with Andy.
