I did not know Andrew but I heard so many wonderful things about him. Andrew you will be missed by many!

Andrew's passing is truly heartbreaking. He was one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, let alone worked with. He was kind and considerate and thoughtful, maybe too good for this world. And there's no question, this world is certainly worse off without him in it. The social interactions he and I shared were a highlight.

It's been two weeks since he died, and it's still hard to comprehend. My heart goes out to his family. I can't imagine what that must be like. My sincere condolences go to his wife, his daughter, his parents, and his siblings. It's hard though, because that doesn't seem like enough, not for Andrew, and not for his family.

In this connected yet disconnected world, I know many of us are grieving separately and in our own way, but grieving we are, the many. It's for obvious reasons that so many people shared this enormous appreciation of Andrew. Perhaps at some point in the future, the knowledge that Andrew meant so much to so many will provide some comfort to those who were closest to him.

As for me, I will endeavor to be more like Andrew. I will strive to be kinder, to be more considerate, and more thoughtful of others, much more so than I have been. We can all adopt this exceptional level of kindness in his stead, for he can no longer do this himself. Good night, sweet prince.

It is with a heavy heart that I offer my deepest condolences for the loss of Andy. He was an extraordinary person whose dedication, strength, and kindness touched the lives of so many, including mine. Andy was not only a remarkable professional but also a true friend, always there with compassion and a smile, regardless of the challenges we faced.

The camaraderie and experiences we shared remain some of my most cherished memories. His friendship, loyalty, and warm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly challenging time. May you find strength and comfort in the love Andy had for his family and in the knowledge that he will always be remembered with profound respect and affection by all who have had the honour of knowing him.

I’m so very sorry, especially for your & your daughter’s loss. I imagine the burden of this is indescribable, however I do recall lucidly your brilliance, grace and strength at school, Deirdre. We lost contact, as you entered your military training but you should know that you shone so brightly then and that that brilliance and determination inspired us girls around you.

I listened to your voice on the quays at the 1916 centenary and was so proud to hear you narrate that historical moment. When you’re ready, the world will be ready too and waiting for you to shine on. I wish you and your little girl comfort and support, in the days and weeks ahead.

Deirdre, you and Ella have been in my thoughts since learning of Andrew’s passing. I’m so deeply sorry that you, your family and friends have experienced such a heartbreaking loss. I hope you find support and moments of comfort in each other at this difficult time.

Sincerest condolences to Deirde and Ella and to Andy's family and friends. Andy was my comharleoir in the Cadet school and a great mentor. He went on to be a fine officer with whom I often shared a laugh. He'll be sorely missed. RIP.

Over the past three years, I got to know Andrew as a kind, compassionate, smart, genuine human, who I was fortunate enough to consider a great colleague and a friend.
