Maureen, my deepest sympathy is with you and the family at this very sad time.
To Tin Tin & All the Bushe Family

So so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.

My father described him as a ‘total gentleman.’ One of the Burgh Quay Press family, truly unique. Never to be replaced, just like your dad.

Heartfelt thoughts are with you all at this heart-wrenchingly difficult time.

Niamh Jones (O’ Kane)

I was very saddened to learn of Andy’s death. He gave long and loyal service to the Irish Press in the newsroom and later as Michael Keane’s trusted deputy. I extend my deepest sympathy to his widow and family.
Maureen, Tin tin, Nick and Morgan, we were so sorry to hear about Andrew's death. He was such a great neighbour , kind, friendly, attentive and discreet, always ready to give a hand when the need arose . Very articulate, knowledgeable and informed about so many topics, he was a great conversationalist. What I remember most about him was his sharp, quick wit, he was very funny and could wind you up without ever being offensive!
He will be sadly missed, our deepest sympathies to you all,
Madeleine, Nicolino, Chiara and Giulia

Maureen, my condolences to you all in your loss of Andrew.
Deepest condolences to Maureen and the family on the passing of Andrew - Andrew and all of you were part of our childhood and I have nothing but fond memories of Andrew and always loved my Uncle, Nick Healy's, stories of their shenanigans together as youngsters! May Andrew Rest In Peace.
Andy was a good colleague of mine as a young journalist starting out in The Irish Press from 1983 onwards. My sympathy to his family at this time of deep sadness.
And so we say farewell to another member of a close-knit fraternity whose spirits shall forever haunt Burgh Quay. Andy will be remembered as a journalist who served with the best during a period when journalism in Dublin was at its peak. He was a true Gentleman of the Press whom the pandemic robbed us of the chance to say final farewell.
His passing is a sad event for his colleagues but not to be compared to the loss of this genial, pipe smoking husband, father and grandfather to his beloved family.
Andy has earned the right to rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to Maureen and family on your sad loss.
Very sorry for your loss TinTin and family. Deepest sympathies for you all at this tough time.
RIP Mr Bushe. A wise and fearsome dad on the square. Often in awe of his foresight of worldly events. Love to you all.
Sincere condolences to you Maureen and all the family. Andrew was a wonderful neighbour, bailing us out when floodwater entered our basement, checking roof slates, protecting small birds. ..You are in our thoughts today.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Love to you and the family, Maureen.
Sending my sympathies to Andrews family and in particular his sister Sheenagh ( an old school friend of mine ). I remember Andrew well from my visits to his mothers house in Ranelagh , he was great in the kitchen if I remember well and larger than life to a couple of 14 year old school girls. Best to you Sheenagh and family.
Andrew was such an utterly unique and brilliant man. He had a profound effect on us growing up, broadening our horizons in countless ways and always treating us with a rare respect, kindness and tolerance, no matter how disruptive or ridiculous we were. It's impossible to remember him without a mischievous glint in his eye. We can still see him waving us off from that bridge over the Barrow - it was so obvious he wanted to be in the boat with us. He'll be sorely missed, and remembered fondly and often.

Nick, Mags, Tin and Mo - sending our love and hope to share some of the memories with you all soon.

Rest in Peace Mister B
I deeply regret that the Covid restrictions don’t allow me to attend this evening’s remembrance for Andrew. He was a wonderful man - straight-talking, honest and very caring. Apart from our shared years at the Press in Burgh Quay, our young families shared a great friendship. No. 41 Belgrave Sq was an idyllic place and a fitting home for Andrew’s incredible DIY talents. I remember too the marvellous Woodstown cottage reconstruction project we worked on. To Maureen, Tim Tin, Nicholas and Morgan sincerest sympathies from Stephen, Ruth and Emily.
Deepest sympathy to you Maureen and all the family, on the death of Andrew. I have great memories of him when we worked in the Irish Press. May he rest in peace.
Maureen and family. Sincere sympathy. I'm sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. A good colleague who always helped to lighten the mood on the newsdesk .
Deepest condolence to Maureen and family on the loss of Andy. I always counted myself lucky to have worked with him at the Sunday Press. As a news editor he was never anything but kind and encouraging to a young journalist. He was great fun to work with, and a generous resource of information, expertise, knowledge, and jokes. One of life’s gentlemen.
Dear Maureen, Morgan and family. So sorry for your loss. Will always have very fond memories of Andrew's 'acting' debut. He was a true gent.

Very sorry to hear about your dad tin tin. Thinking of you and your family.
TinTin, very sorry for your loss. Please stay strong and our prayers are with you and your family.
I always felt lucky to enjoy Morgan's company in the wonderful and beautifully organised home Maureen and Andrew built for their family and will probably always draw on my experience of it. As a child, I saw Andrew as formidable, (thinking gun-press, bedside-baton and family escape-rope by the 2nd-floor window) but then he was surprisingly well-groomed and in calm demeanour when observed years later on TY work experience in the Irish Press. I was privileged to have seen some of the world from his corner. Rest in Peace Mr. Bushe.
Maureen, Morgan and family. My deepest condolences on the death of Andrew. My mother, Eiblín Glenn (45 Belgrave Sq) loved the fact that Andrew recommended and lent her books to read. As an elderly person, it made her feel great that such a learned person as Andrew took the time to do this and for me living abroad, it touched me deeply that he took the time to do this, he was a true gentleman.
Love to all the family.
Deepest sympathy to all the Bushe family on Andy’s passing. A lovely man who was a true professional and a great journalist. He was a valued and trusted colleague who never let his standards slip. Andy was always kind and considerate and a real stalwart in the halcyon days of the Irish Press. May he Rest In Peace.
My sincere condolences on the passing of Andy a wonderful colleague and news editor at the old Irish Press. A true gentleman always kind always professional and always helpful. rest in peace Andy
I was saddened to learn of Andrew's passing. My deepest sympathies Maureen to you and your family. I admired Andrew's straight talking and his great sense of humour and I was privileged to have known him. Andrew will be fondly remembered.
My deepest sympathies TinTin to you and your family on the loss of your father. May he rest in peace and may you treasure your memories.
My sincere sympathy to Maureen and family on the untimely death of Andrew.
You are in our thoughts at this sad time.
Dick
Deepest condolences TinTin, for your loss. I wish you and your family strength and light at this very difficult time.
Andrew was a wonderful colleague in the Sunday Press. He was principled, straight-talking, unafraid to speak truth to power and had an unflagging sense of ironic humour. My deepest condolences to Maureen and family.
It's sad that our current circumstances preclude personal attendance at Andrew's funeral service but I, and I'm sure, many of his friends, will attend virtually.

I'm sad that we didn't maintain more frequent contact over the years. I have anecdotes of mischief and naughtiness (such as sipping glasses of Watney's in the Zodiac Lounge, in school uniform, whilst avoiding some staff members imbibing in the bar upstairs!) but they are for another day.

I hated boarding school but friendship with Andrew made even the worst days not just bearable - but fun.

Witty, erudite, opinionated etc. - a true gent...!

Our sympathy and love to you Maureen and Sheenagh and your families.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time.
