I was informed of this sad news today. It's devastating to hear. My deep condolences to Andy's family. I worked with Andy remotely from day to day. He was a wonderful individual, friend, and coworker. He will be missed. Rest in Peace amigo.

Very sad to hear of Andy's passing. We both started out our working lives together in Damastown, he was one of the first people I met and remained a great friends and colleague for years to come. A true gentleman and always willing to help however he could. Rest in peace, sincere condolences to Andys family.

My Sincere Condolences

I was profoundly saddened to hear the news. Even though we worked from a different geography location, I always felt a strong sense of connection and collaboration with him.

I'm particularly thinking back to last year when I was traveling in Ireland and had the pleasure of meeting him in person. That memory is still so clear, and I cherish the opportunity I had to connect with him.

It's truly difficult to process this loss. The memories are still so green, and I honestly cannot accept his demise. He was a wonderful colleague, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Please know that I am thinking of you during this incredibly difficult time. His family will be in our prayers.

Hard to believe Andy is gone.
So many memories of countless afternoon cuppas in the canteen, afternoon for us, morning cuppas for Andy, as he mostly worked U.S. hours in Dublin.
All the current issues of the day would be discussed. International, national, local, political, sporting, tv shows, sometimes even work.
Those few minutes were the highlight of the working day. No matter how busy you were, you did your best to make it, in case you missed something important.
Every conversation with Andy was an education. His sense of humour always shone through, he was always in good form.
Farewell pal, only the good die young.

I had to ask twice if it was the same Andre Byrne the chief engineer was referring to—because Andrew was always at the forefront of manufacturing issues. If he didn’t have the answer, he knew someone who did. I’ve reached out to him directly for knowledge transfer more than once, and he was always kind-hearted and willing to help.
Andrew will be deeply missed. My condolences to his family.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Andy. He will be greatly missed by all his coworkers and remembered by his kindness, professionalism and positive impact he had on everyone that worked with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, wishing peace on the days ahead.

I had the honor to work with Andy for many years. He was always open to help us and when things became difficult, Andy was there to solve any kind of issues. He was passionate of his work, he acted as a Professor for many engineers in Ireland, USA, Mexico and so on, but I truly believe he was a great human being who made this world better. In the past five months I had the chance to work very closely with him. He shared all his expertise and he went the extra mile for IBM.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting and connecting with Andrew Byrne, better known as “Andy Byrne” at Power Test; where I also worked closely with him on certain products and learned a lot about how to be a professional, careful, and cautious person, as well as getting to know him outside of his role.

He recently came to Mexico, it was very enriching and enjoyable to see him and enjoy a stout with friends, as well as get to know him a little more as the great human being he always showed himself to be.

Deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Andy's passing. Andy and I have been friends all of our adult lives, from when we met in college almost 30 years ago, through our many years working together in IBM. During that time, I had the honour of having Andy as best man at my wedding. Even after our working lives took us in different directions, he'd still check in with a 'hey chief' message to catch up.
Andy was as kind, friendly, and genuine a person you could ever meet. He'd chat about anything from work, to politics, to football, and anything in between. An IBM'er through and through, Andy was a brilliant and dedicated engineer who has left an indelible mark among his friends and colleagues all over the world.
