I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Andy from Trinity. Even though I was few years ahead of him I got to know him through trinity club and Vdp. I bumped into a member of trinity club today and we spoke at length about Andy. Andy touched so many people's lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with all Andy's family, friends and girlfriend.

Andy was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I just remember continually smiling and laughing in his presence. It makes me feel better that my Dad will always have Andy to keep him company in Balgriffin.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Andy. I have been thinking of you all everyday since Andy had to leave us. He was one of life’s good ones and it was a privilege to know him. I got to know Andy in recent years through my husband Shane who was in VDP with Andy. Andy always made me feel so welcome. He was one of those people whose company you felt happy to be in and was such fun, as well as a incredibly talented artist. I look back fondly on a memory of Andy, Nicko, Shane and I singing ‘Euphoria’ at the top of our lungs on the drive back from Louisa’s wedding in Feb 2020. We were all so happy and giddy and I just remember laughing and laughing. We will miss him always. Sending you love and strength.

To Gerry, Bernie, Jill, and Maeve - I have tried all week to form words to show how much Andy was truly loved by all his friends, but words fall short at times like these. You raised a beautiful son, friend, and role model to all who met him and I am so utterly sorry for this unfathomable loss. To Eimear - he was so absolutely smitten with you, and it fills my heart with such joy to know he found you and to witness your love together at Bundoran, though your time together was far too short.

From his exquisite music taste, to his incredible baking talents, to his artistic talent with a pen& paper and embroidery alike, Andy was a man who loved life and who lived it to the fullest everyday. Andy was kind without question, and funny without trying, and he has molded my own life more than he will ever know. He always encouraged me when I was lost, believed in me when I was full of doubt, and, of course, laughed at me when I was being ridiculous.

At camp sunnyside, I found a friend in him. In New Zealand, I found a home in him. And now, I’ve found an angel in you, Andy, and in the words of Maggie Rogers, myself and all the pals will “love you for a long time.”

I was fortunate to meet Andrew in our final year in Trinity and I have many great memories of nights in the Pav with the engineering gang and studying in the Postgrad reading room.
