Dearest Felicity, Peter & family

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for you all.

I have such happy childhood memories of Lucy, Peter, Andrew and myself all playing together in Granny’s garden and running through the gap into your lovely garden, and also all being together at the wonderful Christmas Eve parties.

Then much later on, in college, Andrew helping me and giving me advice on my internship.

Sending so much love to you all and you’re in my thoughts and prayers

With love
Rachael
Dear Andrew's family and friend Emma,

I was honoured to know Andrew. May Andrew rest in peace. Thanks so much for the thoughtful card. I am very touched by your lovely words.
Dear Felicity and Peter,
I've been putting off writing this, hesitant about what I might meaningfully say to you on your tragic loss...
I knew Andrew since we were 13. He and I were in the same class in school, and rowed in the same crew for Pres. The summer after our leaving cert, we went inter-railing together around France. After that, we went to different colleges so perhaps it was inevitable we saw each other less often... still, we continued to play chess on a semi-regular basis for several years. He (nearly) always won.
Andrew was smarter than most people in any room, but few would have known it. His softly spoken manner belied an intellectual and sharp wit. He was one of the few people in my life who would indulge me in thought-experiment and the pursuit of ideas for ideas' sake.
He was unfailingly a gentleman.
After some years of being a bit lost in his early 20s, he eventually found his vocation. I remember thinking it was a perfect fit for him.
In time, we drifted apart. We had both emigrated - he to Maastricht and I to the UK. I hadn't seen him in many years when I heard that he was in his last days.
I'm sad we didn't get a chance to play chess one last time...
Rest in peace Andrew
Dear Felicity,

Very sorry at your tragic event. May Andrew rest in peace. We watched the funeral mass online.
May God keep you safe and console you.

John and Mary Lee.
The adage that 'only the good die young' is very true in Andrew's case. Andrew was a kind, intelligent and funny man who will be sorely missed by us all here in Maastricht. Wishing you all strength for the times ahead.
Deepest Sympathies to Felicity and Peter on the heartbreaking loss of Andrew. May he Rest in Peace.
Felicity and Peter, my deepest condolences to you and your extended family on the untimely passing of Andrew. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Dear Andy,
Finally I sit down to write a few words to you and your family. It is still so difficult.
You were such a nice person and colleague to work with!
We were in the CWG together - luckily - otherwise I would have hardly ever met you as I am mostly working early shifts and you did the late ones. I cannot recall ever talking to you on the phone at work, for example. But in the CWG we were working together, ate chocolates, validated the system and discussed all kinds of topics, work related or just life in general. You were so friendly, interested and smart. Thank you for explaining some Irish peculiarities to me (and who again is the lady on the old Irish money bill?)!
Today, we had our first CWG meeting since you left. We had some cake in remembrance of your sweet tooth and shared some memories. A picture of you, your face turned towards the sun was up on the whiteboard. I hope you are enjoying the sun and the view up there where you are now…
Rest in peace. It is a privilege having known you!

My deepest condolences go out to your family.
Thank you to all involved for streaming the funeral service online. It means a lot to me having been able to “attend” from far away Germany. Thank you to the pastor for finding the right words and to the lady that sang so beautifully in the background that I thought it was a tape recording.
My sincerest condolences to Andrew's family & friends at this difficult time. May Andrew rest in peace
Deepest sympathy on the death of your son so sad to hear of his passing may he rest in peace

My condolences to you Felicity , Peter and all the family on this very sad time , may Andrew rest in peace.
Dear Andrew (William),

Life is too short, at least that’s what they always say. And in this case, it’s só true.
When I first got the news you were in hospital, I was very hopeful that we would be working together sooner than later. Even when I heard you were not doing that great, I was still naive to think that such an incredible and heart-warming person couldn’t be taken away from us. Unfortunately, the horrible news came last Saturday at work and left a big silence and emptiness around.
I miss you since…
Andrew, thank you for your caring nature, your smile, your enthusiasm when talking about something that inspired you. I will never forget our team trip in Lisboa, where you opened up and where I got to know you really. So blessed to have known you.
My deepest condolences to family and friends.
My most heartfelt condolences to Andrew’s family and friends.
I had the pleasure of spending time with Andrew as a CISM colleague. His calm and thoughtful presence was a gift and often directed focus his way. But what was most memorable was his smile, which spoke volumes. I will miss him.

Liz

Having worked with Andrew for over 15 years, it's very hard to imagine not sitting down beside him and work as usual. His calm and always professional attitude was highly appreciated by everyone who came into contact with him. The world has lost a true gentleman with a gentle soul and a great sense of humour. When you least expected it, his cheeky smile and twinkling eyes would warn you something good was on the way.

My deepest sympathies to your family at this sad time. Andrew will be sorely missed.

It was a big shock to learn of the passing of Andrew, which is way too early. I remember him above all for his calm attitude, his friendliness and interest in other people and his great sense of humour. Besides this, he was a colleague it was very pleasant to work with, either as a controller on an operational position or as a coach in the simulator. His memory will live on in all the people he worked with.
Andrew rest in peace and lots of strength for your loved ones who will have to bear this enormous loss.

Sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
Rest in peace Andrew
To Andrew's mum and brother, so sorry for your loss. I was a college friend of Andrew. I have many fond memories of nights out with mutual friends when Andrew had a mischievous grin and a wagging finger ready to gently admonish us (as he was invariably in the right). Such a sweet, fun and modest person. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Although I left MUAC already a while ago, still the shock after hearing about Andrew’s passing is immense. Searching for words to describe my feelings but difficult to find them.

Working side by side with Andrew was an enormous pleasure. His genuine interest in the person next to him was hart warming. These chats I will never forget.

May Andrew’s soul rest in peace.
To Dear Felicity
Our deepest sympathies to you Felicity, your son Peter and the extended Foley family on the loss of your beloved Andrew.
Life can be so very cruel and it is just so sad that one so loved should be taken at such a tender age.
May his gentle soul rest in peace with his Dad Bill.
RIP
My deepest condolences to the Foley family.
It was an honour, a pleasure and a privilege to know and work with Andrew for over 15 years. He was the consummate professional but brought so much more to us on a personal level. The brutality of his passing leaves a massive void for all who knew him. Rest in peace buddy.
