Dear Joe, Audrey, David, Hannah and both extended families. I wish you all strength and love to cope with this shocking loss. I would like to express my very sincere sympathies to the family of Andrew following his tragic and very untimely death. I did not know him personally, though his grandfather, Noel Palmer, was a highly respected colleague of mine many years ago. I know he was taking my course remotely and right up to the end he completed his midterm exam and achieved an excellent result.

So sad that he was taken so early.

Lakelands Football Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Andrew Quinn who played with the club for many years. Those who knew Andrew spoke fondly this week of a very kind, intelligent and friendly young man who tackled his illness with great courage and resilience.

Andrew was an outstanding young man a pleasure to be around and he will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

Andrew is a reminder of how remarkable the human spirit is and that we as people can do anything we put our minds to.

I didn’t know Andrew, nor do I know your family. His picture appeared on my social media and I was struck my his lovely smiley face and felt the need to offer my condolences. I am so terribly sorry for your huge loss. He seems to have been such a light in the lives of so many, taken far too soon.

And of course that smile of his- whether it was in Carysfort NS, training, matches or just catching up with friends, Andrew was always smiling.

As a family unit, you've shown true strength and courage over the last few years and I have no doubt that Andrew will continue to watch over you all as you come to terms and navigate through the coming days, weeks, months and years.
