To the Ward Family:
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Andrew's untimely death. Andrew was a frequent member of the "late lunch" table in Motorola, where he and George Roberts (RIP 2021) loved nothing more than a detailed discussion of some obscure point of history. The only person I know whose present to himself was the full printed Encyclopaedia Brittannica. (And George helped him to bring it home.)
A thoroughly nice man, who has left us far too soon.

My condolences to Andrew’s family. A real joy to be in his company- intelligent, witty and always in good form. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Andrew for many years in both Motorola and Aspira. He was a great work colleague, always good humored and generous with his knowledge. We used to meet up with two others most Wednesday nights in a local hostelry in Douglas, where he enjoyed a Diet Coke and the chat. Andrew was always first to arrive, always seated in the same corner and always with a book or phone in hand. Proceedings usually began with a detailed update on the latest building developments on his bus route before moving onto topics such as family news, the latest on astronomical discoveries, science fiction, fantasy films, unusual military hardware, history of chemistry, his current reading list, music, finance of sport, leaving cert Latin & Applied Maths, software etc. We met for dinner a few times a year after his move to Dublin, and we effortlessly took up from where we left off in the previous time . All happy memories for me; he was one of a kind and it is hard to believe he is gone. May he rest in peace.
