Peter and Family,

Our sincerest and deepest condolences to you.

We cannot imagine your loss and the void left by the passing of both Andrew and Rosalind in such a short timeframe.

Please know that Andrew and Rosalind were immensely proud of you. They mentioned "Peter" so often that, in a way, we all knew you and grew with you.

It was a real pleasure and honour for us all to have known Andrew. He had the inquiring mind of the journalist, the curious brain of the scientist and the clever cross-examination techniques of the canny counsel.

He teased and cajoled in such a hospitable and pleasant way that we have no doubt that he was told secrets by people that they did not even reveal to themselves. Andrew made fully use of the arsenal of "why?", "how?", "who?", "when?" and "where?" We all know "where" Andrew is now, he is at peace in heaven with Rosalind. We just hope that God is ready for the cross-examination and grilling that He is no doubt receiving!

We learned so much from every conversation with him. His charm, intellect and devilish humour made him such engaging company.

Competition law and policy in Ireland still have a long road to travel but Andrew did so much to create networks and share knowledge that his contribution deserves recognition. The journal and conferences were the "social media" and "platforms" of their day.

Those who knew Andrew were blessed; those who did not, have missed their chance with one of the Lords of Life.

May he rest in peace.
Peter, so sorry to hear of your dads passing. Condolences to you and all your family. Huge loss to you all. Thinking of you, Martina
Sorry to hear about Andrew's passing. He was a regular visitor to our shop when down in The Glen to pick up the paper and other items. He would always have time for a chat. He was eccentric, highly intelligent but both in a very nice way. We talked about "small things" and "bigger things" but we always enjoyed the conversations. RIP Andrew amd condolences to your family.
Dear Peter,

Very sorry to hear of the death of your father. I myself only got to know Andrew properly in the last few years, but he has a long-standing relationship with my father, not least through their being direct neighbours in Sandymount. Both just recently suffered the loss of their respective wives, and I know how much my father always enjoyed his little weekly meetings with Andrew, to “put the world to rights”, as he says.

Andrew was always very kind and hospitable to all members of our family, and I myself enjoyed several delicious meals with him on either side of the road in recent years. A newspaperman to his fingertips, his living-room was testament to the amount of projects and research he was still working on. It was a privilege to get to know him, and to enjoy his many stories and warm company. May he rest in peace.
Dear Peter and Family,
Sending my deepest condolences on the passing of Andrew, our dear neighbour and family friend. May he rest in peace. Remembering also your wonderful mum, Rosalind.
My deepest sympathy to Peter and family on the death of Andrew. He was a wonderful man whom I came to know in the early 1990s when I was a solicitor and Andrew was active in business journalism. We shared an interest in competition law, which Andrew recognised as being of critical importance for the operation of any free market economy. He applied his brilliant analytical brain and journalistic skills to a critical assessment of Irish and EU competition law over the following 25 years. His Competition Press publication was a unique resource for lawyers and economists practising in the area, with its detailed tracking of legislation and case law and opinion pieces that reflected his mastery of the issues and his deep understanding of business. They were, of course, also laced with his incisive wit! It was always a pleasure to meet Andrew and to be challenged and entertained by him. His passing also reminds me of Rosalind, always charming and kind and such a wonderful supporter of Andrew in all his endeavours, May they both rest in the peace that passeth all understanding,
Peter and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad interviewed me for my first job in journalism, gave me job and taught me how to be a business journalist. He was a wonderfully intelligent, insightful and inspiring man. I can only imagine how much you will all miss him.

Peter and family so sorry to hear of your Dad's death-- may he rest in peace. He was such a wonderful nurse and carer for Rosalind and was always welcoming to visitors during her illness. We had been in touch but were surprised to hear he had died last Friday. Unfortunately we are away and will not be able to attend the funeral. We are thinking of you and of course offer our sympathy.
