We first heard of "Andrijica" in 1999., when we worked with his partner Mirjana.
Who would think that a year later, we moved together to Ireland, worked for the same company, shared the same friends.
Andrija was a unique character, respected at work, known for his passion for hillwalking, melted ice cream and warm beer.
Those memories we will keep.
May his soul find comfort and piece.

I knew Andrija for many, many, many years. We met during the first days at the university though I had known of him and his band even before. How cool he was then, playing bass guitar with his back turned to the audience, in a punk rock outfit highlighted by Doc Martins which you could get only by shopping abroad. We quickly became very close friends. He was so much fun, he did not shy of new experiences, we shared interests, read the same books, debated about life in general for hours at a time. At some point our lives diverged and an ocean separated us. However, every time we would meet - which was not happening often - we would go back to the same warmness we once shared. I loved that about him. I am lucky to have spent a couple of weeks with Andrija this past spring, first in Dublin and then in Belgrade, our home town. We walked and talked to exhaustion, shared meals and medovacha (honey brandy). I departed with a felling of pure happiness for having such a great friend in my life. And now I feel devastated. I’ve been trying not to completely fall apart and I choose to believe that he is still there somewhere across the ocean, just waiting for my phone call about next adventure we will have together.
Pričali smo često o tebi u poslednje vreme, Džona. Sa radošću! Poželeo sam da se vidimo. Nisi umro, našao si mir.
