Dear Paul and Donal
Words cannot express how saddened I was to learn of the passing of your precious Mam Angela. I was glad to be have been able to convey my condolences yesterday in person at her home but so sorry that I was unable to attend her funeral Mass today. My thoughts were with you at this very sad time.
As you know I was your family GP for many years until I closed my practice in 2002. Angela was not just a patient, she was also a very dear friend for all those years. I saw at first hand what a wonderful, loving parent she was to you two boys. It was not easy to have been struck with the tragedy of losing your Dad at so young an age and being left as a single parent.
Well, she did an amazing job and was so proud of both of you at how so well you have turned out. I could write a book on what such a fantastic person she was. It would be a best seller!!
People move on and do not meet over the years. However it is not so long ago that we bumped into each other in a local supermarket. She looked amazing and we congratulated each other for having reached the octogenarian stage of our lives. I couldn't believe it when I heard very recently how ill she was.
Paul and Donal once again my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you and your families and also to Joan and Laurena to whom she was very close.
Being reunited now with her beloved Donal may her gentle soul Rest in Peace
She will be very sadly missed
