She taught me French in Dominican College in the early '70s and she was an excellent and inspirational French teacher who imparted a love and appreciation of her subject.
She crossed paths with my parents and sister over the years through her tremendous and tireless work for the IKA and she was always so kind and cheerful to meet.
Her legacy will be seen in so many aspects of life in Galway and beyond for years to come.

I wish to extend sincere sympathy to Sophie, Deborah, the Cooke and Whelan Families, Anne and all Angeline's neighbours on Maunsells Road together with her many friends. Angeline always spoke of her love for them and the kindness she received from them throughout her lifetime. I also wish to convey sympathy to all the IKA Galway branch members who held Angeline in such high esteem.
A founder member of the IKA, who together with her beloved Bernie, Angeline carefully guided the Association to become the highly respected National Organisation for Kidney Patients. For many years I had the honour of attending National Executive Committee meetings where both Angeline and Bernard's wise counsel and meticulous attention to detail, benefited patients with judicious policies carefully established by the Association. At all times the patients' welfare was to the forefront.
Angeline and Bernard were tireless IKA fundraisers who frequently spoke of how it was easier to seek help from others when you are not asking for yourself. Angeline's gentle disposition, together with her endearing smile, ensured that people warmly responded to her requests for support.
I treasure the wonderful gift I kindly received from the IKA Galway branch on the occasion of my retirement as IKA Patient Support Officer. It is Angeline's magnificent painting of the 'Galway Hookers' in the Claddagh, a very special place.

Miss Whelan was my English and French teacher at Dominican College in the early 70’s - what an inspirational teacher she was, she has left her ‘vapour trail’ of how to communicate and share knowledge in her unique style of humility and deep knowledge. How lucky we all were. May she rest in peace now.

Dear Sophie, Deborah and family members,
I am so sorry to learn of the death of Angeline.
Angeline, together with my late mother Elizabeth Maloney, dedicated their lives to the good of kidney patients and the promotion of research into renal disease.
They also held committee positions for a long number of years on the Irish Kidney Association (Galway branch) with Bernard, Angeline's beloved late husband, holding the position of Chairman.
Angeline was meticulous in everything she undertook and was kind and understanding to all.
Rest in peace Angeline. Reunited with your Bernard.
