Very sorry to hear about Anita. She was a good friend of my grandmother Sheila McManus who lived a few doors down from her, and she looked in regularly as she got older. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Julian, Gemma & Danny & my god mother Maureen, I have just seen this, our deepest sympathy. Travel seems to take over our life. Just back hopefully for a long break. Maureen I will be in touch next week.

We have just heard the sad news of the death Anita Reeves I remember her from many years ago she was great fun we had many a laugh . A great spiritual person although I have not seen her for quite a while. We send deepest sympathy to her family at this sad time.

So sad to hear of the Anita's passing. R.I.P one of the nicest, funniest and talented people we ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Sincere sympathy to all the family.

Being across the pond, I never got to experience what I'm sure would've been the true elegance of her stage presence. Out of respect, I created her Wikipedia page for the rest of the world to have some idea. May the wind carry her voice and bring comfort to you.

Very sad to hear of Anita's death. We grew up in the same neighbourhood and sat beside each other for some time in primary school. We often played together after school and it was obvious, even at a young age, that Anita was a natural actress. I saw her perform in many plays and pantomimes over the years and she was just such a wonderful actor and entertainer. Condolences to her family and sister Maureen

The Little Ship

I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted her white sails with a golden light, and as she disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, "She is gone".
But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, "She is gone" a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, "Here she comes!"

She was the wonderful mother of us all on The Shaughraun, and always a beautiful, ever-warm and friendly person to meet. I can only think of her smiling.

may i extend my deepest to you all on the passing of anita i had the pleasure of meeting her some years ago in ballina when she was on tour a lovely friendly and plesent person may she rest in peace.

Very sad to hear of the death of Anita Reeves. Lord rest her soul. Deepest sympathy to her family. I did not know Anita but I have seen her many performances in Theatre and she gave us great enjoyment.

Anita - I remember having so much fun and craic with you in the ITC in the 70's - great memories of lovely times touring the country with you. And in recent years, although we didn't meet up so often, I watched you give so many fabulous performances onstage and in films. So sorry you are gone. You were a warm and positive presence in all our lives. My heartfelt condolences to Julian, Gemma, Danny and all the family.

Wonderful actress. I remember her Shirley Valentine fondly and she was a wonderful Juno too opposite Brendan Gleesons Capt Boyle. Sad day. May she rest in peace.
