May I express our sincere sympathy to the extended Garavan family on the sad death of their beloved Ann. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. Castlebar, and indeed Ireland, has lost a gracious and beautiful lady
deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a renaissance woman--dutiful wife, mother and grandmother , but also a superb athlete and actress, and in later years we looked forward every night to seeing her on television cycling along the roads of Mayo promoting the road safety campaign. In the late nineteen sixties she was my mixed doubles partner in the Castlebar Tennis Club and we won many matches together in Mayo and Galway and at the August Weekend Tournament. Ann was a joy to play with, with a lovely flowing tennis style and a perfect temperament who never got upset on court. She was a lady to her fingertips who treated everybody with courtesy and kindness.
So farewell dear Ann until we meet again and thank you for all the joy you spread on this world.

Dear Jeananne & family. Very sorry to hear that your Mum has passed away. She was a such a familiar face on the Pontoon Road, so often on her bike or tending her garden, greeting you with a smile and a wave. Her dedication and kindness at the tennis club touched so many people and she was so interested and encouraging to our children when they started to play the game. Our sincere condolences and may her soul rest in peace.

Our Deepest Sympathies to the entire Garavan family on the passing of Ann. Mary and I had the pleasure of acting with Ann back in the mid 80's in a production of "The Country Boy" directed by Ray Leonard RIP. We played in several venues thrugh out Mayo and became a family in theatrical terms. Every Christmas since then we traded Christmas cards. Ann was a beautiful geniune lady and will be missed by all who knew her. May her gentle soul Rest in Eternal Peace with her husband and best friend John.

My condolences to the Garavans on the death of Ann. RIP. She was a great neighbour and so very kind to my own late father when he had Covid. She sent up some lovely cakes and even wrote a poem about him! RIP Ann. You were one in a million.
