Ann Hogan

I was so upset to hear that Ann had passed away. I knew Ann from my No Drama days way back and bumped into her occasionally since. She had the best energy and was so much fun to be around. But she also had the kindest heart and a great analysis of inequality and I can only imagine impacted in so many ways on peoples lives through her work and friendships. I'm so sad lovely you is not still out there shining bright. RIP. Paula

I just heard this news today, I am so saddened to hear it. Ann and I used to meet up occasionally when she lived in Stoneybatter. She was full of wisdom and a couple of things she said to me had a major influence on me in the years since. I also saw Ann perform the main role in a play years ago. She was a gifted actress and performer. I am so sorry that I didn't know she was ill. Such a warm and kind person. My sincerest condolences for your loss. I will keep Ann in my prayers.

I'll always remember and cherish memories of our production of Dido and Aeneas at the Honan Chapel. She was great company while sincere and caring. I'll never forget her smile, like sunshine. She had the warmest most beautiful voice with such depth. Her sincerity came through in her singing everytime. I'll always remember Ann and be grateful for what she brought in simply knowing her, even for awhile.

Dear Tony, Margaret, Nuala, Vincent, Diarmuid, and Jane,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Marianne was a gift in my life that I never deserved. I had the privilege of studying closely with her in Hungary. Her lively spirit made studying and making music together a real joy. Some of my fondest memories with her involved eating her yummy concoctions, biking around Kecskemét, enjoying nature, laughing on the train, and whistling in harmony (which was difficult between the bouts of laughter). I had prayed for a buddy when I moved to Hungary, and she truly was an answer to that prayer. I was amazed how she wouldn’t complain. I was amazed at her youthful spirit. I am amazed today at how fortunate I was to have been brushed by that precious sunbeam.
Thank you Vincent and Nuala for hosting me when I visited Marianne’s (and your) beloved Ireland a few years ago. Thank you Tony and Margaret for giving me the grand tour of the area and making me feel so welcome. I feel so blessed to have met Marianne and you, her dear family, the people she truly adored the most.

I had the pleasure of studying music with Ann in UCC and then living together in Dublin.
I have such fond memories of Ann, her sincerity, her infectious laugh, her positive and outgoing personality. All attributes that created many wonderful and happy times together.

I have the fondest memories of Ann from my time working with her in Crumlin. She was always so genuine, and full of warmth! Before I worked in St. Agnes', I was a student teacher on placement in her class. She was so encouraging and supportive to me then and also as a colleague in my early years of teaching. Ann was so fun to be around and she made the people around her glow with her radiant personality.
