I was so very shocked and saddened to hear of Ann's passing. I studied Acupuncture with Ann at Barringtons Hospital in Limerick. We all had the very best of craic on those weekends over those 3 years.
Ken I am so so sorry for your loss. I watched the service online in disbelief. She was a remarkable woman with an ever present glint in her eye. It was a privilege to have known her.

Ann was one of my first students in pre school and years later it was a pleasure to welcome Cliona and Cathal. Ann was such a lovely kind and gentle lady. I will remember her in my prayers. May she rest in peace .

Ken, as a couple, you and Ann never said "no" to move to even a more dangerous country than where you were situated! I think the last place I met you both was East Timor in 1999, but I will never forget either of you or your bravery or willingness to help the poor and more disadvantaged than you left behind.

Ken, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your amazing Mrs, Ann Jones, she was truly a special person. I know Ann will Rest In Peace because she gave her all to the poor in the most dangerous parts of the world.

We are shocked to hear of Ann’s untimely passing, and really impressed how Ken found the time and strength to share this sad news with a Spanish guy. I really appreciate it.

Thanks to her we have many good memories of the year we spent in Cork, in the Parents’ Association in Glasheen School and in her house. We still remember how she tried to speak with my mother, and old Spanish lady that only knew to say “hello”, even for saying “goodbye”. We have no words to describe her kindness and great hospitality with us. And although it only was one day, we were very happy the Ryan’s visited us in Madrid during one of their holidays in Spain.

Ann and Ken went towards people to help alleviate their suffering when most others would run the other way. Their courage, skills, empathy and love for others brought so much kindness and help to so many people in Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, East Timor etc.. In the worst of times they brought out the best in people.

Ann's light will shine bright in the hearts of the many people she helped in these countries and to those of us who were privileged to work alongside her and call her our friend.
