My heart goes out to Ann's family and to dear Mary for their loss. Deepest and most sincere sympathies.
Ann was a truly inspiring woman. She made her own way and in doing so showed us the path to follow. She touched so many lives and spread so much good and kindness. I have countless childhood memories growing up next-door and running in and out for sweets, cream jam doughnuts and all and sundry. My children, in turn, loved popping in to the shop with Granny on trips back. Ann always had a twinkle in her eye, a genuine interest in everyone and was so generous. It is hard to believe she will no longer be in the shop in The Square but our warm memories of her will never die.
Ann, you were loved by so many. May you now rest in peace and reap the rewards of a full and loving life, well-lived.

Growing up in The Square, ‘The Arcade’ (later, Ann’s shop) was a central part of my childhood. Ann always had a friendly smile and a kind word. I am grateful for her friendship and many kindnesses (especially in sending rugby/hurling tapes and Munster calendars!) over the years.
