I was lucky enough to start working with Ann in Werburgh St Employment Exchange, Dublin, back in late 1982 when we were both just kids.

Ann was a lovely young girl at the time, so very decent, kind, funny, and a bit of a hippy too. We got along very well and were good friends. Indeed, Ann was on good terms with anyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
I last saw Ann in Uphall, Scotland in 1985 when she had taken her career break and had met Kev. I stayed with them for a couple of nights and plenty of pints were drunk and a good time was had, as was always the case when Ann was present.
I was saddened and shocked to hear last week of Ann's passing. My deepest condolences to all of Ann's family and friends. She lit up every room she entered.

We often stayed in Copstown after nights out where there was always a great welcome. May Ann rest in peace with her son Jack.

How sad we were to hear that our cousin Ann had passed away after a courageous but difficult time dealing with illness .We can only imagine the huge void left for her family in Scotland and for Jimmy,John and Ita and their families in Copstown and Ballyclough. I am thinking too of my late parents Tom and Peg who would have been so sorry to hear the news.They loved visiting our Copstown cousins and we all enjoyed their welcome, sharing many cups of tea and on occasions too,a drop or two of punch.Our happy childhood memories of Ann and the grámhar Murphy relations,as my mother used refer to them,will stay .We send our deepest sympathy to all of you at home and abroad. We are praying that you can find the strength to get through the difficult days ahead, as you deal with your loss and hopefully find a little peace and comfort knowing that Ann is safe in heaven with those she loved who are gone before and enjoying the grámhar welcome once again.Rest in peace Ann.
