I worked under Anne Marie’s leadership in the Fisherman’s Bar in Waterville for a good few years and she made a big impression on myself and other young people that worked under her guidance. Anne Marie always imparted good lessons and good reasons for her instructions , and she ran a really tight ship. She cared for you , and she cared about you ,and sometimes you got a bit of a tough love which was also part of her way showing you she cared. You got a certain level of “well done” and an equal level of “cop on to yourself”

She treated every customer the same regardless who they were or where they came from. (The odd tour bus person who was too demanding would test her patience but that was about it) .

I lived in the hotel in the summers, away from my own parents but with Anne-Marie there I always knew someone was watching out.

She loved all the young people from the village coming in , we talked about those people who have now married and grown up, and their own children are now going after secondary school and playing for Waterville and Golfing etc. She loved celebrating peoples milestones and she comforted a lot of people during tough times too with a chat.

There was a lot of phone calls last night when the news broke. She left a big impression with a lot of people and, some life lessons that we all still carry with us today, in our own houses, the way we do things, she was a class act. May you rest in peace Anne Marie thank you for everything X
