I was so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear mum Ann. We played bridge together for a few years on Monday mornings in Rathcoole. She was a lovely bridge partner and I always enjoyed playing with her. May she rest in peace.

It was always going to be sad day when I would hear of the passing of Ann Taaffe. Her funeral mass today was fitting and both Fr Joseph and Fionnuala captured the person that she was.

It may not be known that she was on the team for Hospitality and Transport for Bridge Europeans 2012 when over a thousand came to play in Citywest. Ann displayed all the qualities of an event organiser superb. Local restaurants, Red Bus, Doctors Clinics, tours and visits to James Joyce, Newbridge, Kildare Village and the Dail were all part of her brief and she did it all with a smile.

Bridge players have been missing her, I have too and the Fr McVerry Trust will miss her valuable fund raising which she carried out to perfection. She was an exceptional person.
