So sad to hear of Anna’s passing. The nicest person. I originally knew Anna from the days in Saudi in the 80’s when she was with Joe and always made me welcome and feel at home with her lovely manner. I remember you, Kayde, in London, as a small toddler running into a glass door as you went to chase a pigeon in the back garden. You bounced off window and got up and laughed, Anna roared laughing, so infectious.

I knew Anna through working with Joe at Leading Edge twenty years ago or more. She made an impression on me. I loved everything about her- her style, her grace, her energy, her passion for life and the environment. Forthright, beautiful, kind, an inspiration. Soul mate to Joe, dedicated mum. Taken too soon. Anna, you are irreplaceable. Rest in peace now.

I am so very sad that Anna has passed. My deepest sympathy to Joe, Kayde, Ciara, Emily, and the extended Aherne and Desmond families. I knew Joe and Anna in Saudi Arabia, way back in the 80s. I was best man at their wedding in Nicosia, which was memorable in so many ways. They picked a church right on the edge of the Greek and Turkish territories, with a Greek soldier, a Turkish soldier, and a U.N. soldier perched in 3 corners of the churchyard. Ye had unique style, Joe and Anna, right from the start. Anna, this was but a foretaste of your unique character for the rest of your life, a life well lived and well loved, truly unique, one of a kind. Rest easy, my friend

I first met Anna 20 odd years ago through property, she was always renovating, getting stuck in, she really enjoyed old buildings and repurposing hence we had a common interest from day one. Anna was just a fantastic person, so interesting, very motivated and a hard worker, I always took note of her advice, she was a practical and sincere person - I will miss her may Anna rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Joe and the Aherne and Desmond families on the sad passing of beautiful and gentle Anna with the warm and welcoming smile. I worked alongside her in the Frameyard Garden at Fota House a good few years ago. Anna was passionate about so many things but particularly I remember her dedication to the environment and growing. I often recall her saying that if you are to grow something it should be edible as so much work goes into it! In memory of Anna I planted vegetable plants on the day of her funeral and remembered her with great fondness.
