Rice in Summerhill.
To explain, at this far remove: Mickie was Clare Champion staff car driver;
I a trainee reporter. We covered the whole of Clare (with
visits for tea and biscuits, of course) to my family in Clonmoney
when reporting Sixmilebridge and Newmarket Court sittings.
What a reward when returning to an Ennis abode in 1995, seeing
that charming smile again and hearing an exceptional singing voice.
