Fond memories of Anne during our childhood in Grasmere. I still have a blue teddy bear nightdress case, which were all the rage at the time, a gift from Anne for my fifth birthday in 1957.
Anne was a massive support to my mother, Catherine Quinlan, as she was our only relative in England. Condolences to the Nolan family.

Anne, who was my god-mother, left her home in Ireland to work at the Dale Lodge Hotel in Grasmere, England in 1946 encouraged by my parents who had moved to the village from County Kilkenny during the war. One of Anne's aunts was married to one of my mother's uncles. She was a very popular visitor the the Holohan family home when we were growing up in the 1950s and 1960s. She moved to Bowness on Windermere after marrying Norman around 1968 and returned to Ireland in the early 90s after he died. In 2014 Chris and I visited her in Paulstown where we spent a memorable few hours reminiscing about life in the Lake District over a cup of tea and her lovely home-made cakes. So sorry to hear of Auntie Anne's passing. We have lovely memories of her at the Dale Lodge Hotel, Grasmere and her home at Post Knot, Bowness on Windermere. Rest in peace Anne, Bob, Kathryn Marie & Kevin.

So sad to hear that Auntie Anne has passed. Such fond memories of her in Grasmere and Windermere from our childhood . Yvonne Zoe and I had a great visit with her in Kilkenny/Paulstown in 2013 . Such a special lady with a good sense of fun -she even took us down to the cemetry and showed us where she could be found in the future ..xxx Denis Yvonne.Zoe and Gary Holohan.
