Very sorry to hear the news about the passing of Anne. We heard about her wonderful pioneering work in Student Counselling in Trinity College Dublin and how dedicated and enthusiastic she was re this whole field. She was creative and passionate and a person of great vision to be one of the formative members, alongside other stalwarts, in setting up a great organisation as named above, the Irish Association of University and College Counsellors, now PCHEI. She has left a proud legacy that will augment the quality of our third level students' lives for generations to come. I offer my sincere condolences to Anne's family and friends at this very sad time. May she rest in peace.
From PCHEI - the professional body of student counsellors, of which Anne was a founding member. Trish TCD
Hello PCHEI Members
We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Anne Keogh.
Anne was a pioneer in the field of student mental health in Ireland. As the first student counsellor in the country, based at Trinity College Dublin, and a founding member of what was then the Irish Association of University and College Counsellors (IAUCC), now known as PCHEI, Anne’s legacy continues to shape the support structures available to students today.
Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this time of loss.

On behalf of all IAUCC/PCHEI members, we wish to send condolences to all of Anne’s family, friends, and colleagues. Recently we celebrated the organisations 30th, which could not have happened without her as a founding member. Thank you for your determination and passion that has made an impact on students, staff, universities, and has left a long-lasting legacy for student mental health in Ireland.
Anne, will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.
I send my condolences to Anne's family and friends. Anne was the first student counsellor at TCD and in Irish universities and was a founding member of the Irish Association of University and College Counsellors. I met her in 1979 when I became the student counsellor at UCC and we collaborated until she retired. We kept in touch -- meeting often for coffee either in Cork or Dublin and whenever I returned to Ireland after I retired. RIP Anne
