Joe, John & Elaine.
Memories flooding my tear ducts.
First time Tony met Anne was when she arrived with Eileen Hennessy into the old Banker’s Club.
People met after work in the tiny Dawson Lounge. Anne always kept a space beside her if she arrived before me & vice versa. We were at each other’s weddings. Tony & Anne’s reception in the Spa Hotel Lucan - a place I cannot pass without remembering their wedding. Anne was a beautiful bride. Many Sunday afternoons were enjoyed in Rossmore with Anne’s signature roast beef dinners. She was a good cook.
Memories….. I vividly recall Kev phoning me at work in St. Michael’s Hospital to announce Anne had a baby boy-Joe.
Anne loaned me all her maternity clothes when I was expecting Gemma.
Every single Christmas morning was spent in Tony & Annes. Our children bonded with each other during those times. Christmas 1989 was memorable because Anne was pregnant.
Elaine arrived safely in the summer of 1990. Both Tony & Anne -along with Joe & John, adored their little girl. Anne was fond of her in-laws in 131- & spoke with affection about Hannah & Joe.
Tony & Kev were great friends. Anne & I had an easy friendship. She was kind, funny, generous with a great sense of humour. We have many cherished memories- more created just over two years ago in Portugal at Laura & Conor’s wedding.
That was a blissful week we spent with all our dear friends-Anne & Tony, Niall & Trish, Mags & Terry, Elaine & Richard.
Rest easy in peace dear friend.
