To Susan and Tony and all who have loved Anne. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

Anne was a force of nature with huge style. I remember meeting her for the first time when I was about 8. She was like a Hollywood movie star to my eyes. Tall and elegant, with the most amazing hairdo and that humourous twinkle in her eye. Much like Uncle Jimmy , who also had that
' I'm a bit of craic' twinkle in his eyes!

They made a lovely couple , exotic to me , as they arrived from London, stepping out of a red Jaguar. With two kids- Tony a wee toddler and Susan, a teeny tiny baby.

They moved to Leitrim and were so cool about updating the old family home in Leitrim village. They had an outdoor shower and a massive kitchen !!! I was so impressed as a teenager. They drank coffee!!! They listened to Paul Simon!!! So cooool .

So , Anne was a person who took chances and emigrated to find something more . She returned with my smitten uncle and the lovely duo they brought into the world. She suffered the tragically early loss of Jim but persevered and made his legacy proud. Her children are testimony of her own legacy.

I wish everyone who loved Anne peace at her passing. She lived a long and fruitful life , meeting so many people and so many will remember her spirit and resilience.

Aunty Anne , farewell and enjoy the get together with the Gray Sisters up there and all your clan, along with reuniting with your beloved Jim.
