I was so sad to hear that Anne is no longer with us. My sincere condolences to Anne’s family. I know you will all feel the loss of Anne terribly as she was such a bright happy light to be around. I had the pleasure of working with her in Aer Lingus and having a few cups of tea with her in Raheny. Lots of love at this very difficult time to her family.

Dear Damien, Mrs. Gilmartin and all Anne’s siblings and extended family. I’ve just attended Anne’s funeral mass on live stream and it was a beautiful reflection of a lively and lovely lady who lived life with great zest, athleticism and adventure. The music choices were especially stunning. Anne was a Plurabelle Paddler team mate and also a volunteer patient advocate colleague at Europa Donna Ireland and most recently we worked together as volunteers when setting up our small Irish ‘Connect Metastatic Breast Cancer Network’ support group. Anne was the first member of Connect and a key contributor who gave enormous support and care to others diagnosed with metastatic disease. Anne’s generous sharing of her knowledge, research and experience of living with metastatic disease will be missed greatly. Though her energy to seek out hope will live on through the Connect MBC support group.
Anne shared so many magical images of Nerja with me and while I didn’t make it there while Anne was alive, I’ll take the time to explore Nerja in the coming years and will remember Anne (and Damien) as I do so.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Anne’s passing. I first met Anne at the Irish Cancer Society patient conference where she introduced me to both the Plurabelle Paddlers and Europa Donna Ireland, in her friendly and personable way. Warm, funny, supportive and loyal, Anne was a dedicated paddler and patient advocate. I loved seeing photos of her travels and her sun trap garden seemed to always be a good five degrees warmer than the rest of Dublin. I will never forget her and will remember her enjoying the sun. Please accept my condolences, especially to her husband and family and her charming and talented nephews of whom she was so proud. Rest in peace, Anne. We will miss you.
