Sincere condolences to the children of the death of their mother, Ann and to her brothers Charlie, Douglas and George and to all the extended members of the family. I heard over the years that Ann lived in the North of England and I often made enquiries about her. We started Ballyheerin School together and walked to the Head of the Acre after school and at lunchtime. I never forgot her. May she rest in peace. Her late father took his boat out every Sunday to ferry the Ballyheerein and its hinterland folk to Mass in Massmount Church, no matter what the weather was like and how many journeys across Mulroy Bay to Morass was never a problem. Nobody was left on Ballyheerin Quay and not taken to attend Mass on Sunday mornings. I myself travelled that journey at a very young age. On many occasions ,waves splashed into the open boat making us extremely wet, but the boat rowed on to its destination. You are a great family to bring her home , to wake and bury her on the Banks of Mulroy Bay, where her late father dedicated his life all those years ago. Ann Dwyer , West Cork ( Friel)
