When she was Hospice manager in Sligo she initiated a really wonderful project with artists, musicians, and writers engaging in a groundbreaking and creative way with families, patients, and staff. It wouldn't have happened without her, she drew in the participants and managed us with great care and attention. She will be missed.

I have many fond memories of Anne-Marie from DCU and from visiting her in Ottawa in 1992, just after I moved to Boston. I am sorry I didn't get to see her more over the years, and I'm saddened for my sister, Siobhan and her other DCU/Language and Marketing friends, who will miss her dearly. My deepest sympathy to Anne Marie's family and friends on her sad passing. I worked with her when she was Hospice Manager where she worked so hard and passionately for the wellbeing of the patients and staff and in developing the hospice further at that time. She was also instrumental in setting up the Ag Cruinniu creative project which brought art and music to the hospice and it gave so much joy to patients and families in their final days/weeks. I heard her sing on one of those occasions and she had a beautiful voice. She had a lovely gentle curious nature and was very kind and attentive to us all and could diffuse any situation with her lovely laugh/giggle.
She achieved a lot in her years here. Rest in peace Anne Marie.

We are so devastated for you all. There really are no words. From all the stories and the way you spoke of Anne Marie over the years Sandra she clearly was such a beautiful girl taken before her time.
I only had the honour of meeting Anne Marie over a cup of tea once and she clearly was a lovely warm person and great company.
Shay met her many times in your house and often came home with stories that Oscar told him about his Sligo aunt who Oscar clearly adored. Shay wants Oscar to know how sad he feels for him.

I had the honour of being in class with Anne-Marie for 6years in Our Lady's, Clermont, Rathnew. Her incredible gift of music & singing talent was a hallmark of those days and for the past few days as her old classmates, we have been sharing the songs & hymns that she gifted us all with during those years. We are lucky that we were able to all reunite at various reunions in the intervening years and enjoy her smile and beautiful spirit. May your soul fly high Anne-Marie, we will miss you.

It was with great shock and sadness when i heard of the death of the Anne Marie.

Her loving kindness, and all encompassing genuine, infectious smile and laughter had an everlasting positive effect on me and I will carry it with me always. AnneMarie spread courage and joy , like others might spread gossip. I will forever be inspired by that courage, joy and loving kindness, as I’m sure thousands of others also will. Her loving kindness changed the world for the better and will continue to do so.
Let your loving, kind , gentle , fun loving, joyful, courageous nature soar , dear AnneMarie on your onward journey, as you are reunited with your Mom. xo.

I have just watched, with great sadness, your celebration of the life of Anne-Marie. Though she may not have been very enthusiastic about her career choice, she willingly became involved in professional activities before heading for Sligo and the sea. I admired her ability to influence others and will never forget her smile and warmth.

I met Anne Marie in Mexico in 1992 and serendipitously our paths crossed again in Guatemala and Mexico in 2016! Inspired by Anne Maire I joined the 10 day silent retreat in Mazunte! A very beautiful and worthwhile experience. Anne Marie subtly guided and encouraged one to explore their essence and identify what's important. Sincere condolences on your very sad loss.

I first met Anne-Marie about 15 years ago and our paths have crossed many times since, whether through food, the arts, or just around Sligo. I'll always remember a train journey to Dublin a couple of years ago where we had the best chat the whole way. I'm so grateful to have this memory now. My sincere condolences to the Ellison family and to Anne-Marie's friends.

I spent 1st year in Rathnew with Anne-Marie and always had such fond memories of her. Was lucky enough to reconnect with her again at our school reunion in 2019 and we stayed in touch.

She never changed - always warm, positive, kind, honest, curious, brave, spiritual and above all fun to be around.

Anne-Marie has left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her and her light will always shine bright in our hearts and memories.
