My deepest sympathy to Anne’s family and friends, and to Margaret. I had the absolute honour and joy of being part of their last return to learning class in MU in 2017/2018. Anne’s merry and kind demeanour and absolute delight in her subjects was wonderful to witness and she inspired me with a love of learning which will last my whole life. Thank you Anne.

Heartfelt condolences to you all. Deeply saddened by Anne's passing. The impact she has had on peoples lives is far reaching. She was an outstanding educator and human being. The nature of the fun, insight and passion she brought to different educational spaces was very unique and powerful. Was lucky enough to work with her and Margaret for a number of years. My deepest condolences to Anne family. Anne was a wonderful person and teacher. She helped me immensely through the Maynooth access program when I returned to education. Anne helped me gain confidence in my self. I did get to thank Anne for all the help and encouragement she gave me. Anne was a joyous person with an incredible spirit. Rest in peace.

So sad to hear of the death of dear Anne through her dear friend Margaret. Condolences to Anne’s cherished family, Jean and Margaret her soul mate As a result of her care and inspiration, and that of Margaret, I progressed from the VEC in Navan to their foundation course in Maynooth and on to Graduate with a Double Hons. as a very mature special needs student at aged 60! I cannot speak more highly of Anne’s encouragement and inspiration. She hold a special place in my heart. Life is for Learning….

Deeply saddened to hear of Anne's death. We worked together in Maynooth University for nearly twenty years. Anne was a loved and respected colleague and a phenomenal educator. She shared her love of learning with her students especially ancient classics. She supported them to recognise their own capabilitues and thus enabled them to plan their ongoing education in a meaningful and life enhancing way. I have met many past students in chance meetings over the years and all remember her with love and gratitude. Enjoyed all our long chats with Margaret in the coffee room in Education House. I had the good fortune to cross paths with the most amazing, special lady called Anne ( Anne with an E as in "Anne of Green Gables " one of my favourite books), as I went about my days work and she became a patient at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan.
She always had a cheerful good morning / kind words accompanied by a beautiful smile that had such warmth in it. She always kept up the good humour and never complained.
I had a chance meeting with my secondary school class teacher from Mercy Convent today. She filled me in on the pioneering work that Anne has done in Maynooth University, helping students to achieve their goal of a third level education. I hope she has inspired more people to follow in her footsteps.
My life is all the richer by my chance meeting with Anne and she has left a lasting impression on me. Rest in peace Anne.

I have special memories of her from my childhood as she was always ‘the Toblerone lady’ because she would always bring me one when she visited. We had some great laughs recalling this recently.
