Many happy memories of AnneMarie - beautiful, witty and kind. Andy and I have happy memories though I wish I had seen her more recently - having spoken to her on the phone in January we intended to visit her. It was a beautiful funeral service - we will watch the mass on Saturday online. We will never forget her . Our condolences to Mrs Durkin, Kelly, Jeremy , Cillian and Tom. Rest in peace AnneMarie xx
Dear Helen,
Thinking of you and sending condolences to you and your family.
Thinking of you and sending condolences to you and your family.
I'm so shocked and saddened to hear about Annemarie's death.
We went through university together, meeting for the first time at Boddington Hall of Residence, Leeds University, in 1980.
We went on to share a university flat with other girls until finishing our degrees in 1984.
We both did a degree in Spanish and French and despite a lot of opposition, we managed to persuade the university to allow us to do Italian in our first year as a subsidiary subject.
After finishing university, Annemarie, Chritine Logan (another friend and colleague throughout our university years) and myself set out on an adventure that would change our lives forever. The three of us, in my Beetle, took the ferry from Plymouth to Santander, to spend a year working in an english academy in Madrid, Spain.
A year later Annemarie returned to Ireland whilst Christine and myself stayed on and in fact never went back to England.
Sadly I completely lost touch with Annemarie.
I do remember having fish and chips after our degree ceremony with Annemarie's parents and her little sister Kelly, where her parents met mine.
All my best wishes to her family at this very sad time
