I'll never forget my first visit to Ireland, in August of 1970. Having hitchhiked from Belfast, I knocked on Annie's door. As soon as I mentioned I was the son of Eileen Newman, her arms flung open in embrace. In the years that followed, she became the gateway to Clare Island for my mom (her 1st cousin on the Barrett side), my dad, my sister Therese, and our cousins who came in the years that followed. My Kathy & I first returned to Ireland in October of 2012, & remember Annie's gracious hospitality, as we shared tea & sweets, & memories. And when in 2016, we met her children, it was obvious the apples hadn't strayed far from the tree. To Seamus & Catherine, Mary & Pat, and Norah in London: our since condolences at your loss.

We would like to pass on the condolences of all the O’Sullivan family,to Seamus & Mary & Family on the loss of their dear Mother, Annie.
To us, she was a Wonderful sister/Aunt who we met every time we made the journey from London to Clare Island. No trip was worthwhile without paying a visit to see our beloved Auntie Annie. The kettle would be on in no time, and there was no welcome like it.
She had all the news and she was interested in everything and everyone.
After coming our from the Island, it was back to see Annie to catch up on all the News, before the best send off you could ever get, Annie waving you off from her home in Roonagh.
We will all miss you Annie, more than you will ever know. 💚💚💚
