Such sad news. I knew him through friends and shared many parties with him over the years! Ak was poetic, expert on all things music and fun to chat with.

My deepest condolences to all the Kennedy family and to Emi and Eki on Ak’s death. We will all miss our wonderful friend, musician, linguist, mathematician. He was a brilliant guitar teacher for all our children and through his teaching in primary schools and in community groups instilled a love of music in many children. He was always great craic. It was a pleasure to meet Ak's truly lovely family, at his recent passing ceremony, which was beautiful. The music perfect Van and Leonard and good to see so many of his friends over the years there . His nephew and niece read so well. His friend Rhona wrote and delivered a great informative eulogy , the lovely priest Fr. Joe Kennedy, no relation, felt he certainly knew him then, said he had joined the choir of Angels. Those who were fortunate to know him , knew he was a brilliant musician , linguist and a well loved teacher to disadvantaged children. Always good company
Always remembered with warmth and love . He is at peace .Our sad loss is Heaven's gain.

I knew Ak a bit back in the Belgrave days as a genuinely warm guy with a big, friendly smile. A gentle rebel and a cool, knowledgeable music head, with a big personality. He was always a major presence in any company he was in. Very sad to hear of his passing. My sincere sympathies to all those who loved him.

I attended the old school in late 60 ‘ and saw A k as a rock / blues guy , looking like Eric Clapton in the yardbirds.

We had our office on the ground floor of South Richmond Street until 2012 and got to know Anthony who lived in the basement flat. Such a lovely person. We met him in town only last December 22nd and had a lovely chat. He told us how pleased he was to have his own place now. So schocked.............
