Anthony's sudden departure has created a great sorrow among the Rugby fans at club, provincial and National level. Anthony's service and commitment to Rugby will continue to serve as a inspiration to generations to come. In his short rugby career Anthony made an indelible impact as a professional and superb sportsman. He will go down in history as a great Munster man, a great leader and one of the nicest person I have had the pleasure to meet. Anthony will be sadly missed but never forgotten. The death of Axel has really struck a chord with everyone of my generation. I spent many a happy Saturday in my 20s roaring for Munster and watching Anthony play his beloved game. He had a glint in his eye and a smile on his face always. He will be remember forever by us all. Thoughts are with his family. We travelled to Paris with the Munster Team on Saturday last, everybody looking forward to the match but when we arrived at Stade Yves-du-Manoirm stadium on Sunday we learned of Anthony’s sudden death, everybody went into deep shock owing how sudden and untimely his death occurred. Anthony was the heart and soul of Munster Rugby and will be remembered for many years. Our sincere condolence to you and your children, Anthony’s parents and your family during this very difficult time. We will remember all of you in our prayers. May he rest in peace. So saddened by the sudden death of Anthony. If its any consolation Olive and extended family you will all know by the huge numbers that paid him tribute and attended the funeral that Anthony was much loved both on and off the field of Rugby.
